Default How was your acne treatment with Dr. Hope Solano or Dr. Divina Go?

So here's a story about why I'm posting this thread:

I've been suffering from acne for two years already. When I started noticing that my acne was getting worse, I first consulted Dr. Vicente Verallo. However, I eventually stopped going to him since the medicines he prescribed me were way too expensive (and the side effects such as extreme redness, itchiness and burning/stinging sensation on your face are hard to tolerate). Also, I can no longer deal with Dr. Verallo and his staff's rude behavior. So I stopped treating my acne for about 5 months and after that, looked for a new dermatologist. I consulted Dr. Florencia Dimaano (I learned about her through one of the threads here in Istorya). I sticked with Dr. Dimaano for a while since the medicine she prescribed were humanely priced and she was really nice to her patients. She was also able to tame my acne but months after my treatment, my acne came back . Of course, I went back to her, since during our first course of treatment, she was able to control my acne, so it would still work for the second time, right? And I was right about it. But again, 4 months after my treatment, my acne just came back. Now, I'm just desperate to have a dermatologist who can administer a proper treatment plan for my acne that would tame it for life if not have it completely disappeared.

I've been eyeing on Dr. Hope Solano and Dr. Divina Go for weeks now but I cant decide who I should go to. So I'm asking anyone who has been a patient of either of the two doctors about their experience. For your convenience, you may follow this format:

    Name of Doctor:
    Meds prescribed:
Duration of Treatment: (how long were you under acne treatment)
    Satisfied or not:
    How much did you spend:

You may or may not follow the format. Pwede sad mo mag-Binisaya, Tagalog or English. Ayaw lang Waray, Chinese ug unsa pa nang di common nga lingwahe sa Cebu kay di ko kasabot ana haha. I just really need to have some insights about the two doctors. You may also suggest other dermatologists if you like.

A good Dermatologist won't give creams, ointment, soap or any medicine right away. Hormone testing must be done first before diagnosing and formulating treatment. Your testosterone levels might be too high. This is how it's done in the US. Acne forms from these culprits: allergic reaction, adolescent hormone fluctuations, adult hormone fluctuations, diet, skincare regimens.

Philippine Doctors are sometimes very quick to administer drugs even without proper research. The kickbacks for promo deals from Drug Companies like Pfizer, GlaxosmithKline,etc.. is too tempting.

finally someone said it! I couldn't agree with you more! I've researched about how board certified dermatolgists in us conduct treatments for patients whose acne doesn't seem to go away with just the use of topical creams and antibiotics. And just like what you have mentioned, they consider other factors such as one's hormone levels in order to provide the patients the "cure" they need. How i wish philippine dermatologists are much more advanced in how they diagnose their patients so as not to waste their patients' time and money.
