sir good morning... what can you recommend? i'm 31 yrs old and 135kg (morbid obese)... i want to lose weight at the same time not have any saggy skin.. i'm going to the gym now and i just lost 4kg in a week... the trainers there wanted me to do body weights and more cardio but i think lifting weights is better... they are also telling me to take some supplements but they are too many and i don't know what's good for me.. hope to hear a positive feedback from you guys. thanks!

Don't crash diet. Aim for 3-4lbs fat loss per week... but since you're morbid obese, you will most likely lose more. Don't give in to the FAD DIETS most "trainers" give you. Just eat whole foods, Vegetables, Lean Meat, Good source of Carbs. Cut down on sugar intake also. No sodas, etc

Yep, Lift heavy weights coupled with a low impact cardio on rest days(swimming, reclined bike, elliptical). Don't run since it might be too stressful for your knees.

Lastly, Enjoy the journey! Don't treat it as a race. Enjoy what you're doing. Ayaw ipa feel imo self nga mura ka'g gi torture. It should be sustainable LONG TERM.

IMHO, it really depends...for me if I stop training, I lose weight and I lose muscle fullness. On others, what will happen, if they stop weight training, they tend to eat as much as they did when they are training. The body then compensates, with the surplus calories/nutrients you are ingesting, would really lead to weight gain and body fat storage.

    hope that helps

I second this. Low impact activities should be the exercise of choice. You don't want to hurt your joints while trying to lose weight.

Supplements are not necessary. You can get the job done with proper nutrition through whole foods. Losing 4kg for the first few weeks should be normal since you're morbidly obese. It might slow down to 1-3kg per week due to your body trying to adapt so don't worry if it slows down. It's perfectly normal. Some people would get discourage and try to cut calories even more just to keep up the pace. All it would do is crash your metabolism and eventually it will plateau your progress.

Just be consistent with your training and diet, the rest will follow!

In addition to what Fred said, you're basically spending less energy throughout the day because you no longer gym/exercise. Less energy expenditure + no change in diet(eating the same) ----> your body stores the excess calories as Fat ---> Gain weight. Simple as that
