^^That's the sad part because the state itself has not been too successful either.

The church is partly to blame. All they do is just preach but they don't take action.

    but.an sa simbahan..
    hehe..

"it should be reality-based and do not subscribe to idiotic abstinence education programs."

This is what religious fanaticism looks like.

Posted by deBeauxOs on 3rd September 2007

Fanaticism is an extreme and uncritical perspective or behaviour, enthusiastically manifested in unreasoning zeal, or frenzied and rabid beliefs regarding an issue. Usually associated with political or religious ideology.

Exhibit A: When in Manila, do as Rome says.

Quiapo Church has become almost synonymous with abortion. It is a testament not only to a people’s abiding faith but also to one of the more tragic facts in Philippine society, where abortion is illegal and the Roman Catholic Church condemns any woman who has one. But more and more women are undergoing abortions, and more and more of them are dying because abortions are largely clandestine and unsafe.

Precisely because of the enormous power of Roman Catholicism - more than 80 percent of Filipinos are Catholics - the government does not have a clear policy on abortion. Filipino politicians never mention it in their public pronouncements except to condemn it. Meanwhile, reports of women dying or hospitalized because of induced abortion, or of fetuses found in garbage dumps, are becoming more common. …

Some hospitals refuse to treat women for abortion-related illnesses like profuse bleeding because, as one health official put it, “they look at these women as sinners.” In a few instances, according to women’s groups, doctors have performed postabortion dilation and curettage without anesthesia as a punishment for these women.

The situation will become steadily worse, as a recent news item from the Philippines reports that a US international development agency is phasing out its contraceptive donation program. The Catholic ideology dominated Manila government has allocated money for family planning programs but has not yet defined the parameters. Birth Pangs suspects that the only technique likely to be promoted will be the ‘biological rhythm’ method, also known as Vatican Roulette.

"Try to do some back reading, I said that a lot more effective solution yet never did I suggest that everyone should abstain from ***. "

imo gi type oh….. mo deny pa jud tawn .

beh sa nagbasa ani gawas ni yokam... unsa kaha ang gibasabot ni yokam aneh... murag lalom ra kaayo noh? is this literal o na pa niy hidden meaning?
    ahaha

Is “not engaging to *** “equivalent to the word abstain? E word for word pa jud nako? Dili pwede gamitan og lain word para at least mo taas man ang akong vocabulary ? Oh Encarta oh… dili ni wikipedia ha?

    ab•stain [əb stáyn]
    1. refrain from something: to choose deliberately not to do something

    en•gage [in gáyj, en gáyj]
    2. require use of something: to require the use or devotion of something

then you use it with “not” . so, negatively used… sentence: require not to use something

And it goes back to discipline.
    [color=green]unsaon diay pag discipline yokam?

Beh, you’re a catholic you should know about this.
Can you cite all natural family planning method the catholic church is advocating? walay labot diri ang ligation og condom ha kay artificial man na… obvious dibah? Then if you can not cite all these method, then unsa KAHA akong masulti? ineffective ba ang teaching sa catholic church kay wala kay ma cite? O apil ka KAHA sa mga tao na gi mention diri na wala na minaw sa wali….. then, IF so, then apil unya ka PUHON sa poblema sa over population … ahahah

    Bitaw peace lang… nothing personal

Yes, it's literal and there's a little pun intended, you just didn't get it. . Impossible ba mapugngan ang ***? LOL. But not engaging in *** prevents pregnancy right? Makes sense after all.

Discipline? Mao gani nga di lang magpataka ug *** because the chances are pregnancy will result.

ineffective ba ang teaching sa catholic church kay wala kay ma cite? O apil ka KAHA sa mga tao na gi mention diri na wala na minaw sa wali…..
You better do the citing because for as far as my understanding about the church teaching goes, anything not natural contradicts the church. You better enlighten me since it seems you know more.

^^ That's why I pinpointed lack of discipline. And sad to say, kontrahon sa simbahan ang contraceptives.

^^abstinence programs approach are based on ideology rather than on sound scientific-based evidence that must be the cornerstone of good public health-care policy.

“Pro-life'rs” campaign on the “immorality” of abortion but the policies they support seem to lead to lots more of them. They aren’t out to ’save innocent babies’, they’re out to control women’s lives.
