On Alaska winning a championship? They were due. The last time they won was when we had a dynasty in the making, but they split all of us up. They just let go of Nic Belasco. Just look at in the past 3 years. The ONLY player there is Mike Cortez. They let go of Arigo, Peek, Belasco, Me, Eugene Tejada, Rob Duat, Phil Newton, and Brandon Cablay.

My take on Team Pilipinas? The competition is tough out there. Just don't understand how they can deport players, question their citizenship, accuse them of being Fil-Shams, but still LET them represent the Philippines? That I never understood. If you can't beat them, join them! I'm in great shape right now. I'm the same weight as I was in college. Don't think I can go back and play in the PBA because I know something else will come up and that's just too much stress. IF I do, it's to bring my family there. I've never been to Bora...

a nobody I assume...hehehe just ignore his posts...maybe he's overwhelmed such public figure or someone who has first hand experience is exchanging thoughts in this forum.. hehehe

Yah that's what I observe lately regarding Alaska's management "strategy", fortunately they won the championship, since there was less competition, it's ironic Willie Miller shines everytime the PBA has to send it's "best players" to an international event...

I'm also wondering why they let some of those fil-am's play for the national team and initially they were scrutinized of their nationality...Is Mick Pennisi legit? from his physical features he's not, there's even no slight resemblance of filipino race! hehehe

it would be a stress to play again in the PBA but if you want to redeem yourself and set the record straight regarding your reputation as a Fil-Am then it would be worthy.... or you can just live your life now, which I assume your enjoying... you gotta go back to Bora bro...

I probably know that person, that's all. That's Alaska for you, but every business has their share of ups and downs. I look on the PBA website every now and then. I was shocked to see Fil-Ams period on the team. Here's my things...we got harrassed because we were from the states, so why have them represent your country? Just bring a group of locals to compete. That is just one thing I didn't understand. They also put me in the Fil-Sham category which was wrong!

if they would be sending in locals to compete in international competition then it would defeat the purpose of bringing in Fil-Am's either legit or not since we need physical specimen who can compete w/ the international teams!

Yah u were listed as one of the Fil-Sham and I never heard they updated the list after every individual clarified his case! hehehe

That's what I didn't understand. Why harrass the Fil-Am's, but later put them on the National Team?

I got a call in mid 2005. Like you said, "money talks, bs walks!" That's true all over, but very blatant in the Philippines. For instance, I was cleared by the DOJ in September 2004. In the papers I was good to go. The players even showed me. I went to Brunei for 2 weeks with Red Bull in October and that's when I found out I was being questioned again. Cleared one day, not cleared another day.

it's sounds like they ONLY want those selected Fil-Am's whether legit or not to play in the PBA, not following the simple basic rule, presumption of innocence - anybody is innocent until proven otherwise...Man, I'm wondering how your parents/relatives felt about it when you were harassed back then....

Mick is arguably the most unfortunate PBA player when it comes to "at the wrong place and at the wrong time" that's why he's perceived as a bad fella....look what happened during their game last year against Purefoods wherein he was accused of intentionally falling on the back of Eugene Tejada, poor guy he and his team had to explain that it was unintentional and inadvertent accidental....

Ey, I'm just wondering on your username JayRyn, is that the initials of your kids, I presume you have 2 sons, right?

Yeah, my mom was really upset. I have my mother's last name. For years, she told me to just come home, so I didn't have to deal with it and put my kids through it.

As far as Mick, he can be a dirty player, ONLY if you get dirty with him. Other then that, he's a normal guy. Same with me. If I feel some guy is giving me cheap shots, I'll wait for a couple of plays and get him back. I learned that from the veterans on Pop Cola when I was there.

My username is a combination of my wife and my name...
