^^ hehe you got a lot of sense of humor too..
I saw Bonnel Balingit a week ago at the Talamban Sports Complex doing a talk about a networking company. Something to do with herbs.
hahaha, si Bonel karon ga networking na? Hey, Jon, is that really you? why'd you leave the country in such a haste
currently the headcoach of SWU CobrasMIEGO, Alejandrito “Dodie” G 5-6 University of the Visayas
though im not sure about it but i heard he is a former Cobra too.
Let's see, why did I leave the country? I just got really tired of being hasstled by everyone. I gave them my grandfather's name and it got to the point where they wanted proof he existed. I had to call my uncle in Hawaii to get his death certificate. Yes, death certificate. It stated where he was born and his full name. Everyone who wanted me to leave saw it. I had nothing to hide. It just hurt because I am half Filipino and I was getting accused by "some" of the Filipino people of being a fake-Am. NO, I didn't leave Alaska because of some DOPE scandal. If that was the case, Red Bull would've never signed me. That is a HUGE lie. I left because I was getting the run around with Alaska. They weren't up front with me, so I wanted to leave. When I was on Red Bull we beat Alaska every time, so that felt REAL good!
I haven't been back since I left in Nov. 04'. I miss playing and I'm in the best shape of my life because I lift everyday, but do I want to bring my kids back to a country that doesn't want me? My kids have Filipino blood in them! People ask when my boys get older, are they going to play in the Philippines...my answer, No! Just being honest and that's something people can't do out there. There are guys playing who DON'T have an ounce of Filipino blood in their veins, but they're playing right?
As for me, I got re-married. I live in California. I'm a Recreational Specialist for the City of Monterey and I'm the head assistant coach at a local high school for the varsity basketball team. My life has done a 360.
When I was at the DOJ before I left, they asked me about everything that was going on. I told them, "I didn't need 20 lawyers to speak for me, I didn't need 20 documents to prove who and what I am....They could've asked me anything they wanted." They made me look like a liar at a Senate hearing when THEY said, I TOLD them my mom was born in the Philippines. Before I entered the country, THEY had my mom's birth certificate. It says she was BORN IN HAWAII! I have nothing to hide. My last statement was, "me leaving is a sign from the Lord saying there were bigger and better things for me in the states." They gave me 3 days to pack and leave the country, so I flew back with both of my boys and we've been doing great!! J.O
I also keep in contact and hang out with all of my friends who are ex PBA players. Rob Duat, Phil Newton, and Kenny Evans. We're all here in California, where the REAL Fil-Am's reside. I keep in touch with one of my closest friends. My ex teammate/neighbor. Brandon Cablay. We were texting each other yesterday. He is one of the nicest guys I've met and he is a TRUE friend, so you guys remember that!
whoa... lots of info from Jon eh...
sayang...the Fil-Am case in our country is being controlled by business...sports today is purely business compared before wherein the essence of the sport is upheld....
I didn't leave the Philippines because no teams were interested. I left because of other reasons. In 2005 Red Bull called me here in the U.S and asked if I wanted to come back because all of my papers were finalized and good to go. I declined the offer.
can u comprehend "bisaya"? just wondering though....heheheOriginally Posted by JayRyn
for the sake of this thread....can u name some of the Fil-Am's that are currently playing now in the PBA who are shams? I personally believe you are legit, but media sucks or nobody gave u a chance to shed ur input regarding this matter...
