Oh, but I know Indians nga tapolan sa trabaho. What I meant was, academically, brayt gyud sila. Mas dali ilang comprehension.

Food for thought ... Indians seems to be getting a lot of back patting on how great it's doing in getting out of it's third world state ... the fact is ... MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Indians still live in poverty. Gather up the entire population of the Philippines ... and there are more Indians who live in poverty. When a country is composed over over a billion people, it is easy to forget the many when only the few bright areas are put into spotlight.
Being Indian or European or American or African doesn't make anyone more adept to knowledge. If you weren't putting yourself down, I'd call you racist.Originally Posted by Dorothea

i'd rather trust the a positive change in statistics (employment, inflation, poverty incidence, economic sector growth, job security, rise in wages, etc. ) as a sign of progress, than winning the bid to sponsor the F1, or even the Olympics for that matter. =)

vern: I don't have exact figures, gi approximate lang nako. Based ra man na sa akong nakit-an, daghan gyud kaayo Indians sa Silicon Valley. Also, go to any hospital in the US, about half of the doctors on the staff are Indians.
And also, I wasn't putting myself down. Kung moingon diay ko nga brayt ang mga Indians nga akong nailhan, does that mean I'm putting myself down? Tinuod bitaw pud nga halos tanan Indians sa US puro mga professionals, in highly specialized fields, like medicine, engineering, the various sciences...
Of course pud, mo agree ko nimo nga kanang pagka brayt or whatever, depende ra gyud na sa tawo. But if you re-read my post, I was talking in generalities. Just as Pinoys are known nga mga nindot ug tingog, nindot mo kanta, or the Chinese are known as being negosyante or kuripot...every race, naa man gyud certain characteristics nga mo emerge ba. And even that is accepted in socio-anthropology. And I'm not being racist by saying that.
Na misinterpret lang nimo akong gi post. Maybe you want me to say nga ang mga Pinoy ang pinaka brayt sa tanan mga tawo sa kalibutan? O cge, kitang Pinoy na ang pinaka maayo ug pinaka ngilngig nga group of people in da world.
Peace!

I do not know of a SINGLE Indian doctor, then again I don't look for them ... but based on your numbers ... 1 in 2 shouldn't be hard to find. I don't mind people giving opinion ... but numbers are inherently taken to be fact ... if they aren't fact, don't give numbers out.
I didn't misinterpret anything ... perhaps you shouldn't phrase your sentences in a way where it means and sounds like something you didn't intend for it to.
vern: you're right...tungod kay nakit-an nako ang mga Indians nga ga drive ug mga luxury cars, naka kurbata, unya sulod gawas sa mga dagkong buildings sa Silicon Valley, San Jose, Mountain View or whatever, it doesn't mean nga taga IT Industry na sila. Basin diay mga janitors sila noh? I didn't think of that. You're right.
Also, mao pud siguro nga wala ka'y nailhan nga Indian doctor kay wala man gud ka nagpangita nila. But then again, it may just mean that you're an extremely healthy individual who has no need for hospitals. And that must also mean, I'm sickly enough to be so unfortunate to know Indian doctors. I don't look for them either, but they're there. I have no choice but to acknowledge that they exist. And just because you don't know a single Indian doctor, does not mean there isn't one. I have yet to see a wakwak face-to-face, but I believe they exist. Or a Martian, for that matter.
Also, try to backread. When giving out my numbers, I used the words siguro and maybe. I don't think anyone took them as facts, being that there's a certain flavor of doubt in my part. Dili man gud ko sure kung 50% ba gyud or 49% lang.
Also, ikaw na nag ingon, this is a forum that allows people to express their opinions. So whatever I post in here, those are my opinions. Naa ra nimo if you take it as fact or whatever, it is subject to your own interpretation. It doesn't matter how I phrase my statements, different people will always interpret them a hundred different ways.
So, I defend my right to give out numbers and statistics based on my opinions. If I say that maybe 90% of Filipinas are beautiful or that 90% of politicians are corrupt, feel free to correct me and those numbers.
Also kung puhon naa ka'y facts kung pila gyud percent mga Indian sa Silicon Valley, or pila ka percent Indian doctors sa Amerika, maybe puede na nimo ma share nako?
Again, my posts are based on my opinions. I hope I haven't traumatized anyone by my statements. And if, in the future, vern, I express an opinion that strikes you as dumb, you can just choose to ignore me. Or, you can correct me. Whatever you want. The last time I checked, this forum is for everyone who has an opinion, dumb people and smart people alike.
Vern, you are very smart (I don't know that for a fact, just my opinion), I am really not worth your while. There are so many more smart people here who are worth your time. I'd say, about 85%?
Peace!
we are all born genius/gifted/talented, if we don't develop it as we grow then mawala ra ghapon na ciya kadugayan, bisan ang tawo na disabled gifted ghapon na siya in his own field/specialty
maka ingon jud ta nga daghan ang bombay people sa silicon valley or sa filed of medicine in the u.s. ky daghan man pud ang nang-apply didto kay daghan man pud ang bombay sa tibo-ok kalibutan ti-aw mo'y hapit na cila 1billion samtang kitang mga pinoy wala pa ka abot ug 100 million, kung imong i analisar ang atong ratio sa bombay: pinoy mahug ug 10% ra ang atong hinadaghanon nato nila, bisan ug kitang tanan mangapply or manarbaho sa silicon valley ug iliha katunga ra sa ilang populasyon ang manarbaho didto ,di mas labaw ghapo cila kay daghan man gyud cila, mao na nga inyong nakita nga mas daghan ang bombay didto not because they are just talented but because they are more populated
