if the lakers are to contend for the playoff. they need veteran players... they can find respectable disgruntled free agents for the 27th and 34th pick. teams will accept picks for disgruntled players.

i doubt if they still want to sign wesley johnson after his performance this season. byron did not like his game...

more rookies on the roster = rebuilding mode

add more veterans instead of rookies = playoff contention

Wesley Johnson comes up cheap. They should get him back.

I still say, they keep the picks. The 27th pick, if they can get that Upshaw guy, looks interesting-- better than any probable FAs they can get for that 27th pick.

i don't think upshaw will be available for the 27th pick a lot of teams might gamble and take him earlier than 27.

i have a feeling flip saunders will draft okafor instead of towns, because he is the safer choice of the two, and flip is kind of an old school guy who likes traditional centers, like okafor.

Guess the Lakers are also interested in acquiring Demarre Carroll but sources says his value is around $15M - Not sure if he is really valued at that amount. I know he is a good 3 pt shooter plus excellent defender but $15M is just quite huge.
