those who can wait for 2016 Forty or Monty models, just wait a little bit more bec of its new looks... idk, with the performance engine and etc..
Have a Sorento 2013 model. Manual. didto ko sa SRP @6th gear, running at 100KPH @1600 rpm. Kaya na sa Fort og Montero?
New Fort is still under powered. I think 145 hp ra.
The only SUV that's at 190+ hp kay ang Sorento, St Fe and upcoming Everest. Diesel na ha. Kay ang Subaro Forester 230hp man but gas cya. Kia and Hyundai have come a long way in terms of quality. Infact, all their vehicles are EU certified; crash test, moose test, smoke emission test, noise test, etc. Ang image noon kay dili jod na malikayan kay bati man sad jod ilang cars sauna.
However, after 2010 or beginning of 2009, diha na ni shift ang image sa Korean car makers. If they want to win the market, they need to change. If wala mo ganahi sa Korean vehicles kay bati og image, then nganong cge man sad mo palit og Korean made smartphones? Ka gets mo sa point?
Toyota, has relaxed so much nga wala jod ko ganahi sa Fort. 4 gears vs 6 gears sa Sorento. drum brake vs disc brake sa Sorento. Very loud engine when revving up sa fort. Ang pinakabati pa jod ana kay ang engine nila defective. dili pa jod moangkon ang toyota. Go search D4D problems og makakita mo og daghan problem. Kung kanus-a na na introduce and Fort kay mao gihapon ang engine ana.
Since 2013, no problem with the Sorento except sa lingkoranan. Bucket seat but manual ang sakyanan. bucket seat is good if automatic.
Mont has another problem, kita mo sa fb nga ang mga auto nga Mont kay mokalit lang og accelerate? Unya ang insurance kay dili na nila dawaton, kinsa man gasto sa guba? Dili man sad mo angkon ang Mitsu nga naa silay deperencya. Go figure.
I should have seen this thread earlier...Im not going to engage in any argument though with what I will post here..anyway, just to humor everyone.
Trivia
The "R" in the engine description of hyundai or kia cars does not mean racing, nor recreational, and to say it means Russellheim Germany is quite revealing and new learning for me-if it is accurate. anyway, i dont have the data to refute this hehehe.
I must have been not listening to our guide during our plant tour in Namyang plant (2009), where these engines and cars for that matter where built R engines 2.0 usually for the Tucson but not limited to...and the 2.2 for Sorento .
Both Santa Fe and Sorento are one and the same, in same manner as the Tucson and Sportage, the Picanto as the I10, etc, etc.
I have been selling cars for almost 25 years- 10 years hyundai and 3 years kia...add 8 years honda and some periods in chrysler, chevy and opel. and indeed it is very difficult to overcome the Toyota byword...as in colgate for toothpaste or kodak for camera and as a salesman against toyota, i encountered this thousands of times....and over the years I learned to sidestep this fanaticism, ...I just think of them as...faithful husbands. hehehehe
thankfully, advancements in information technology has helped in educating thousands of others more to the fact that Toyota does not have anymore the monopoly of quality, safety, economy, durability and most of all ....resale.
specially resale value...which most diehards still stuck as a toyota edge kuno....try selling a Grandia over a starex, or a rav 4 against the tucson or sportage in the 2nd hand market...
Toyota is the market leader, and their hold in number is still very strong not only in the philippines, but worldwide as well.
But, competition is always good for business, it keeps any salesman worth his salt, on his toes all the time.
ordinarily, there are two reasons for choosing which to buy....aspirational or affordability. and the competitors of toyota, survived happily, profitably even....in serving the needs of those who aspire or can only afford
It is not wrong to be a fanatic, as it is not wrong too to try something else.
