Default Wired to wireless - I have 2 Unused N routers : Can this be used as bridge?

My question really applies as to what I have searched for almost a week already

My background: I know softwares but I don't do networking (just the basic)

Wired device: LG Blu-ray player with Ethernet port. (5.1 home theater actually)

    2 Unused Wireless Routers:
    1. Linksys E1200 - Wireless-N
    2. myDSL Prolink H5004N

Pwede ba nko magamit ni as wireless bridge or wifi extender? Asa mas maau ani nila if pwede?

Mostly mn gud sa mga tutorials (other than buying a ready to use wireless ethernet bridge) ky i-flash mn dw ang firmware. Bcin maguba na nuon.

Is there a way nga igo lang usabon ang settings without flashing firmware?

Actually 2 ni ka prolink router. Ang isa ako na gyud gi-flash.. dili na hinuon ma detect.. mo-on pa nuon... pero ang problema ky dili na ma factory reset..

I was reading this as well (2005 thread) https://www.istorya.net/forums/networ...lan-lan-2.html

    ******
My other reason: (If successful ang conversion ):
    * I want to browse my shared files on my WD 1tr MyBook using my Player for pics, movies etc..
    * Mao nga need ko ug wireless connection from my bluray player.
I'm thinking the same concept like wireless laptop and phones that can access shared files over the same wireless network..
Possible ba ni using my blu-ray to see my WD My book shared files after nka wireless?

The bottom line, Unsa gyud maayo nga setup pra ang hardwired device nko convert to wireless?
(if possible using my existing router)

    Thanks

nariribog ko sa imo explanation bro ^_^,

bitaw, if I understand this..., you have 2 extra modem/router and wanting one of these units to be "configured" as a wireless bridge so that your 'blueray' player can have access to internet or whatever you need to connect to your network then right?

Pwede ba nko magamit ni as bridge?
what kind of bridge?, wireless bridge? ^_^, the answer is yes but ONLY if the firmware supports it!

Asa mas maau ani nila if pwede?
-e1200: is a good candidate for ddwrt as version 1 and version 2 of this hardware is/are supported
-h5004n: maybe not, as I don't see it on ddwrt (maybe on openwrt or tomato?)

Mostly mn gud sa mga tutorials (other than buying a ready to use wireless ethernet bridge) ky i-flash mn dw ang firmware. Bcin maguba na nuon.
    - there MIGHT be retail modems that have built-in support for wireless bridging
    - firmware flashing is not for the faint of heart..., and if you do not know what your doing == paperweight device!

    - result of what I have pointed above...

    - maybe too old for your setup, things may have changed..., I did not even bothered reading it ^_^

My other reason: (If successful ang conversion ):
    * I want to browse my other files on my WD 1tr MyBook.
    * Mao nga need ko ug wireless connection from my bluray player ky ako phone (connected to the same wireless network) mka browse mn gud.. Possible ba ni?
    - you want to access your WD MyBook from your BD player?

ok, here is what you need: Client Bridged - DD-WRT Wiki

    things to really note bro:
    - I believe you need to have 2units of the same unit in order to use it effectively and avoid headaches! (see illustration on link above) [since na-a naman kay e1200 which is supported by ddwrt, then buy one nalang if you badly needing it!
    - kita kog same e1200 unit baligya sa BnS section!
    - when both are setup properly..., murag dili na nimo magamit ila wireless fuctionality sa e1200 kay dedicated naman na sila for wireless bridge I guess.
    - kinahanglan aron wala labad..., same hardware version unit, same firmware version sab!

hope it helps you out bro

Pls check. I already updated my queries. Hopefully dili na samok basahon.. aehehe..

Thank you bro. It seems like using DD-WRT, you'll have to setup separate IPs or SSIDs to each router?

How about converting 1 of my router as wifi extender pwede? (Sorry, hope I'm not making things complicated now.)

    okies.

follow the link provided..., if you don't know, then we can manage to do those basin.
na-a to sa BnS bro, ang usa kay murag 400php manto then ang usa kay 600php [e1200].

I'm not sure if tobe configured as extender kay dili gihapon basin mu-work

if wala gyud headache imo gusto bro, buy this nalang or its equivalent: CDR KING

aaaahhhhh.. wla nay headache.. nipalit nlng ko ug Range Extender nga Linksys.. Maka connect ra gyud diay sa ako shared files over LAN or Wireless network.

    INFO:
To access to the PC shared files, I'll have to install Nero Media Home sa PC... then waaalala... faster than USB 2.0..
