ngano jud diay gibuhian si Villanueva sa RedBull?
Maybe Enrico Villanueva wants to clear up his name and win back some fan's hearts after being booed almost every game by fans after the scuffle against San Miguel Beer's Danny Ildefonso. . The trade was not bad either, Villanueva for Rommel Adducul, at least of SMB's perspective.
SMB may have a strong influence in the PBA board, after all they're getting quality players for not so good ones. . Villanueva for Adducul and acquiring Lordy Tugade for a deal that also involved Adducul from Ginebra.
san miguel teams are making a mockery of the PBA it appears sometimes like Ginebra acquiring Paul Artadi, sila ra jud tawon nabulahan, wala gyuy ayo ang nakuha sa Air21 and Purefoods in that deal..they just had to involve air21 kay dili man sila ka negotiate directly with PF which is a sister company
Actually, it's fair enough. If wa pa mosugot ang Air21 to be involved in such trade, then no deal should've been done.
The result of Artadi trade:
Ginebra gets Paul Artadi from Purefoods
Purefoods gets 2008 second round draft pick from Air21
Air 21 gets Jec Chia and Paolo Hubalde from Ginebra
Basing on Artadi's performance with Purefoods lately, it's a fair and not really a bad trade. Though, knowing what Artadi can do, Ginebra obviously won the trade..... for now.
Joe DeVance once again exploded for another 30-point effort. DeVance scored 31 points in another losing effort for Welcoat as the Dragons bowed out to Air21 Express 112-100. Once again, Welcoat never got enough support from it's other players except for Jay-R Reyes who added 29 points. For all his three games in the pre-season tournament, DeVance never went down the 30-point plateau.
Injured Seigle may call it quits
Friday, September 21, 2007
Andy Seigle, the 1997 PBA top draft pick, is another former marquee player who may have seen the end of his career.
Unable to get a contract renewal with Barangay Ginebra, Seigle, 35, was trying out with Red Bull when he suffered a suspected ACL injury on a bad fall.
“It’s a pity because we need a big man. He came to us, saying he wanted to show Ginebra that he still can play. I told him ‘okay, prove yourself.’ But he suffered the injury just in his third day in practice with us,” said Red Bull team manager Tony Chua, the current league board chairman.
“He’s way out of shape. In such a case, a player is really prone to injury,” said coach Yeng Guiao. Seigle, a former University of New Orleans mainstay who played for the RP team in the Bangkok and the Busan Asian Games, failed to strike a deal with Ginebra with the player reportedly still asking for a maximum pay although he spent much of the 2006-07 season nursing various injuries.
His game had been on a steady decline the last five years or since his best season in the league in 2001when he averaged a personal best 14.6 points a game with Purefoods.
But for his size and experience, the 6-foot-9 center may still have found a taker if not for the injury.
The first Fil-Am player picked No. 1 overall in the annual draft, Seigle averaged in double figures in five of his first six seasons in the league.
He normed 13.3 points and 9.9 rebounds a game as he bagged the Rookie of the Year award with Mobiline in 1997.
Other veteran stars no longer re-signed by their mother teams are Jun Limpot, Vic Pablo and Poch Juinio, leaving Johnny Abarrientos, Olsen Racela and Rey Evangelista as the senior mainstays in the league.

As to Andy Seigle, he was overhyped even when he first came here maybe just because he was a Fil-am so now, it could be bye-bye PBA Career for him
Playing for Welcoat is not actually that bad for Joe DeVance, he's young as well as his team. Welcoat looks at him as their leader on the court and with such task, DeVance can mature in no time. With his abilities and soon future maturity, he will surely dominate the PBA, more than what Benjie Paras, Marlou Aquino and Asi Taulava did during their prime.
What Joe Devance brings is a great promise to Welcoat so the challenge now for Welcoat is how to maximize his talent by surrounding him with a team that complements his skill. Welcoat is a young team and also has promising young stars like JR Reyes and Ryan Araña. Give this team 2-3 years to build and if they make good use of everything that come their way, they may be a contender
