The Girl who leapt through Time

When 17-year-old Makoto Konno gains the ability to, quite literally, "leap" backwards through time, she immediately sets about improving her grades and preventing personal mishaps. However, she soon realises that changing the past isn't as simple as it seems, and eventually, will have to rely on her new powers to shape the future of her and her friends.

I love this movie! I posted it here sa TVs and movies forums cause I think non-anime fans will love this too, think of it as a Koreanovela of sorts. damn, I almost got teary eyed near the end.

it's funny, lighthearted and tragic. I'm moving spirited away from my no.1 spot on my list of favorite anime movies of all time.

B.O.R.I.N.G. - nothing new, nothing groundbreaking in concept, it's just like your typical "what if" film and the consequences of trying to meddle with the past... i've seen it all before done better so this one doesn't impress me one bit... and yes it does feel like a koreanovela which is a genre I loathe in general... PWEH!

i don't feel any sympathy for the characters in the film especially the lead character who is just annoying... makes me want to choke her to death for being stupid and being an awful crier...

Spirited Away is simply leagues above this one... no contest...

Weren't we all a "crier" when we were in high school? The more important thing to note was in fact what happened to Makoto after all of it. Did she remain a cry-baby? The movie actually explicitly and subtly reveals this. You can eventually see her future through her Aunt Witch who experienced the same thing when she was her age. And now she's reconstructing the painting. And did she remain a cry-baby? Hmm...

While I think Spirited Away is indeed a groundbreaking anime, this movie was also pretty amazing. Although it doesn't dazzle you with complex animation, the simplicity of its animation compliments its perplexing plot. I've seen it only once. And I truly think it deserves multiple viewings in order to get a good grasp of the layers embedded in it. There are many good juxtapositions in many scenes. And if you're concerned of the Koreanovela-ish of the story, get over it. I don't think this is just an ordinary standard genre anime.
