you can't really compare the 2 as they're on different ranges for different uses, you can't substitute one for the other. 10-18 is almost exclusively used for landscapes, wont be of much use on other genres. if you want an all-around that can do decent landscape go for the 17-50, if you want to focus on landscape get the 10-18.

the 18-55mm kitlens has a max aperture of only f/3.5, while the 17-50 has a max aperture of f/2.8. this means that the tammy lens can handle low light situations better and has a softer bokeh for single subjects.
