m50 - the most recommended starter, you cant go wrong with it. you dont really need to amp it but getting the fiio E6 will surely improve the sound, much more if you get the E07k or even the E17k2 or the E18 and utilize the DAC. so i say go for it, good deal btw.

^ saw 1 unit of ATH-M50LEs (spring cable) in SoundRoom SM. no price was posted. you may want to check that one out.
Also saw B&W P7 there at 20k.

Also spotted 1 unit of the Focal Spirit One in the computer store near Datablitz SM. limot ko unsa name sa store. sold at 11k.

mora daghan sad new stocks ang classic hifi sa ayala I pass by there 2 days ago.. they carry audio-technica M50 series if ngita mo anah nga particular model and brand.

actually daghan man available M50 diri cebu. Soundroom, Classic Hifi, Metro Ayala. Fiio you can get from Astrovision/Astroplus, Mobile1 or from PowerUp Audio/fetzhola in istrorya. Usually, if its available locally, we buy local para wala nay gasto shipping and taxes. HD 558 is a bit more expensive than M50 but if you can afford it, go for it its better.

anybody have experience with master quality songs in DSD format?

i have a couple of DSD songs both samplers from HDTracks. youre gonna need a DAC that supports it. My PC cant and not even my Burson, but they play nicely on the X5. but tbh the selection of Artists available are very few and im not familiar with most of them. SQ-wise i dont really see night and day. So FLAC is just fine for me.

What you said is consistent with the things i have read about that format. I guess its not yet very mainstream yet because of current hardware limitations.
FLAC is still the go-to format then.

Exchange lang niya ta files puhon sunod meet. Gamay pa ako FLAC collection.

You can get one of these and play with DSD on the hardware level...

Tried a few files using software conversion through audirvana, sadly my equipment level is not yet there for me to notice the differences...
