It is on that certificate where your licensed equipments are listed.
If you purchased a new unit you also need to have a permit to purchased.
As for the amateur radio equipments, any radio for the amateur bands can be licensed.
There is of course a power limitation dependent on your class.

"Preferred" suppliers? Basig "accredited" suppliers tingali. Afaik, the supplier has to file some reports also when the radio was purchased and sold.

I would suggest you guys go for the combined license para usa nalang ang gastos.
