@shryock: Oh man, very hard to tell if it's orig or not just by looking at them pix.. I could never tell unless I have an orig in hand and compare that other m50 beside it.

Original Equipment Manufactured, AUDIO TECHNICA have the ATHm50s' made by someone in China for surely if I'm not mistaken then after there Job Order Contract ends these factories would make the same specification but doesnt pass Audio Technica's strict standards then: puts no brand or label (this is the part its OEM) or if ever they marked it w/ a different brand (this would be a different story "CopyCat"), if the same Brand is printed then this is already considered as FAKE or Infringement w/out the consent of AT

For P2,500 its really tempting but its a risk, for another P1,000 more I'll sell my stock FOSTEX T50rp for these w/ extra SHURE 940 pads anyone interested

Legit na bai, tecnically the same product, orig manufacturer but NOT officially from Audio-Technica so you wont get the serial# or warranty from ATH. most prob the same company na nag factory-outsource sa ila and they still have the blueprints and materials. technically it is the same but quality and standard is not guranteed. at your own risk ni thats y it is cheap.


"OEM" can also sometimes refer to the exact same official product minus the add-ons, packaging and marketing materials, saving the manufacturer some costs and able to sell them at a lower price. I remember when getting a PC years before, the Windows installer CD is marked "OEM" and that is because it is just wrapped in plastic, no box, design nor manuals in it but Orig and Legit gihapon.
