2013 Toyota Vios 1.3J Owners from Cebu Dealership - Check your Air-Con for a filter!

Sorry, Toyota Cebu but I feel that consumers should be aware and check the car that they bought or are buying.

My friend bought a 2013 Toyota Vios 1.3J from a Cebu Dealer.

With the recent hot days, he decided to check the air conditioner filter mentioned in the car manual.

Much to his surprise, there was no air filter installed. In fairness to Toyota, he tried to contact the sales agent but was informed that it was not really included.

The filter was mentioned in the car manual and is included in the maintenance schedule with a warning that the air-conditioning system system may be damaged in the absence of a filter.

Was Toyota trying to save money by not supplying the air-conditioning filter in a P600k+ car?

Ahm sir, air filter and cabin filter are two different things. Maybe you mean cabin filter which is found behind the glove compartment.
Sir, is your friend's car 3rd gen (the latest one)?
I think this is true to all 2nd gen(not sure with the 1st gen), regardless of location(Cebu, Manila, etc). I also have a 2011 E A/T. No cabin filter was included.
So I bought one and installed it myself.
Of course, it's better to have one installed in your friend's unit sir.
Though I don't have any idea why Toyota does not include that by default when buying the car.

Some units have one and some units dont, depende sa year model, usahay saunang mga unit naa sa sunod tu-ig wala sunod tu-ig na sad naa...di lang ang toyota ingon ana pati na nissan, mitsubishi, honda or even BMW...

Thanks chibi for clarifying that it is the cabin air filter.

Maybe Toyota should not have even mentioned it in the car manual if they did not have any intention of installing it. However, it would be quite peculiar not to mention an important item in the car manual that could lead to damaging the air-conditioning system if not installed.

To say that an important item is optional will also be very peculiar.

I wonder if Toyota Japan condones this practice of not including the cabin air filter.

Hmm, most car owners have never seen the car air bags... are they sure these were installed also?

Maybe sa japan dli abog kau? Pero naa mn planta sa Toyota dre asa pinas...why wala na nagbutang ug filter... or ang toyota big boss wa ka feel sa abog sa pinas ky naa ra permi sa office...??
