The only people that's united in this dead country are the crocs. Also all our tax money are united in the imperial manila so that only manila can benefit our hard earned tax.

its the people's fault who still vote for this people... if tanan lang unta mo botar ug dili mag pa bayad... dili tana ma overwhelmed ang nag tinarong nga botante... atleast in federated states we only mind our business... and it will be easy to replace a governor than a president...

    I support federalism 100%

Let the regions rule their own states.

The Philippines' geography and its ethnological/lingual diversity are not stable pillars for a centralized, unitary government. I believe federalism will make a competitive, stimulating environment that can boost our economy for a long period of time. If we can make a parliament, it'll be much better too. The decentralized Manila is, the better for the whole Philippines.

I mean come on, we have an active faultline here that's ripe for movement any second now. Imagine if an intensity 7.2 magnitude quake hit a place of 10 million people and where most government, cultural, economic and educational institutions are. Much as I hate to point out the Imperial Manila reality here, a disaster of that scale will paralyze, if not cripple, the WHOLE nation for an uncertain period of time.

Not being overly paranoid, I'm just imagining situations in a foreseeable future

Even before the spaniards came, most tribes in pre-colonial Philippines are ruled by 'kingdoms' of noble-blooded families (maharlikas). Some might say that it is in our 'genes' that we are carrying until now, thus the phenomena called 'political dynasty'. Federal or not, it will persist unless you educate the masses.

If a state elected their own corrupt leaders, they will be the first ones who will suffer from it. The fault is on them, not on the national government per se. Federalism will give free rein to the local leaders to be accountable for their constituents, as it will ALSO provide more responsibility for the people who chose that kind of leadership.
