here is the REASON why i believe evolution is DIRECTED.

We see that natural bodies work with a goal and for a purpose.(purpose in the sense that everything in creation have their corresponding roles and parts in sustaining creation).
but we also know that most natural bodies like the heavenly bodies in the universe or the things in nature do not have Knowledge and Intelligence on them but because of the the Laws governing them, they are able to function properly and orderly.
we see specific Laws governing everything hence produced specific effects.
Evolution is subject to these LAWS.. like sa akong tubag ni jhared.

now, judging by the Nature of Law itself
Laws point out to purpose..prehas anang muingon mods nga stick to the topic..purpose ana is to maintain order diri sa forum.
in order for purpose to exist, it requires intelligence..of course, kinsa may maghuna-huna kung unsa nga balaod ibutang..

it all boils down to perspectives bai.. for me it is, for you it's not..
speaking of Laws, how did these Laws of nature emerged? who, what laid or how are these laws laid over? --this is not me saying aha! kay wa tay tubag asa gikan ang natural law therefore there's God. Lol
rather, it is a question basing from the reality of the existence and purpose of Law itself.

it's a roundabout theory that will never be testable just like zeus, thor, the gods of the hindus, etc will never be testable,, if it is true for you then so be it..

we make laws to create order, we have laws to maintain peace, we adhere to the laws binding us to sustain the peace and order these laws produce..
same thing with nature, if we keep the natural law..creation will be preserved.
as long as we adhere to boundaries of natural law, we can maintain the order of things.. for example , fishing: dakpon lang ang mga isda nga angay na kaonon...i balik ang kadtong naay bihod(itlog) gamit ug sakto nga sukod sa pukot para di maapil ang mga gagmayng isda..

from natural law to civil and Laws made by men..tanan prehas ra ug tumong.. for peace,order and preservation as well as improvement..

now, we can both agree that if a country has no law whatsoever, it is leading towards chaos and would eventually break down..even a small family, if wlay disiplina, walay balaod..managko jud nang way klaro ang mga bata..
therefore, mao naay congreso, senado ug presidente ang nasod para aning mga balaod..mao ang mga ginikanan mag butang jud ug mga balaod..
same thing with nature, the only difference is makita nato ang mga naghimo sa balaod sa nasod ug sa panimalay.ug sa natural laws kay wala..naa ba jud kahay naghimo?

here is how i see things considering the nature and purpose of Law.

whenever there is intelligence, a being must exist.

you're going too deep, something so simple ought not be explained by too much allegory.. just like thinking too much about law one would come to a conclusion that there is no such thing as true freedom like Jean-Jacque Rosseau when he said that slavery is necessary inorder to create a peaceful society..

there is such a thing as an is-ought problem present in logic, as what the late David Hume had pointed out, reality (is), idea (ought), should not derive an is from an ought, but rather it should be the other way around, the former be applied to ethics, yes, the latter should be applied when seeking the nature of physical things.. in your case since you believe in god because the bible tells you so, therefore you are prone to saying that laws ought to come from god, you are inferring that an is should follow your notion of an ought without so much as presenting an empirical data to support it.. in my book i find that fallacious, because the notion of god is irrefutable like what i said..

and you believe that society ought to make laws inorder that goodness may be maintained, because you like to think that this peacefulness is a property which we ought to follow, when in fact the law of nature suggests otherwise, as it always have before we became civil.. ought distinctions on morality is a human invention, laws are of the same origin, although both proved to be important elements of survival as evidenced by our number.. although we are still outnumbered by ants..

but if you read between my lines, it's also full of is-oughts, because i am ruled by my own notions of "what-ought-to-be-followed" that is why i always avoid talking about this, nonetheless that's my take..
