Dumaguete City Philippines - Robinson Mall Dumaguete, Refused Mr. Mark Cohen ( Man with Disability) and his guide dog to enter the premises because of "no pet allowed policy". However, the dog was actually a well trained guide dog that accompanied Mr. Cohen wherever he goes.
Mr. Cohen is a medically-certified Person with a Disability and have a neurological disorder which necessitates having an Assistance Dog to mitigate that disability. And he is also a Director of The International Institute for Assistance Dog Training.
According to our source this incident happened last week August 17,2014, when the guard on duty assigned at the entrance door of the mall blocked the door and refused the old man to enter the premises and even closed the door when he forced to get inside because of the policy, no pet allowed inside. They called the police and accusing the old man for disturbing the peace. He was handcuffed and brought to police station for further investigation.
After a week, Mr. Cohen Sent letter to the management of the Robinson expressing his thoughts and he also shared the letter to Hukad popular facebook of dumaguete and the content of the letter was shared in public.he incident caused people to hate the mall upon reading the story at the said facebook page and personally witnessed the incidents. But its not the end yet, Mr. Cohen thought that the Mall notified by his letter and rumors from the people around hoping that the management will do something about it and he still hoping to get inside of the mall.
Mr. Cohen tried to visit the mall August 27,2014 with his guide dog hoping that Robinson's Mall allowed him to get inside that time, he just want to log in at one internet cafe located at the second floor inside the mall. But then again, the guard refused him to enter the premises like what happened before.
