i went to Triple H Goat Farm yesterday. I had to call unta for appointment but wla man sila contact number on the internt. So we decided to just go. Layolayo jud but when we get there, it looks like an abandoned place. Wlay taw, we get in anyway. Naa man sguro ga atiman kay naa man tubig ug kumpay sa usa ka cage. Pero daghan tangkal nga wala nay sulod. Daghan sad guba. Unya puro na dagko, wala nay kids. What happened to this farm? I thought they were one of the biggest here in Cebu.

Bro ask lang ko if goat raising is really profitable. The time span is too long and the profit seems to little base sa ako computation.
Example I buy a buck worth 15T and then I buy 5 native goats at 4T each. Then I build a home for them at an expense of 20T. Then feeds at 1,000 a month. At month 5, this will be the earliest that all does will bear kids. Say, each of them has 2 kids. They can be sold 5 months after at 3,000 each. A receivable of 30T after 10months. The expense is at least 65T (15T+20T+20T+10T) not to consider the expense for caretaker, deworming, vitamins, their regular food. Maintaining your does, this could take 3 yrs before you return your investment. You are still not earning. And your housing degrades and have to spend for new. Not to mention potential deaths. So this is my question:
What do you think is the best approach in Goat Business if I want to make an earning (not ROI, but gains) in 6 months with a maximum capitalization of 50T?

there's no other way but killing them and selling their meat at 4 months. goat raising has never been a viable business anywhere. raising them will take time mao na nga ang uban kay para personal conusmption and for supplementary reasons in dire times. in my case, i never sell any of my goats and sheep [newly added] because raising them is my hobby.

sorry for being a discouragement to all but livestock raising will never be a good business kung ang ato huna2 ang profit or ang ROI ra coz the profit you can expect is too damn low.

This is the truth. There's only one way to get your money back plus a gain in six month. Don't buy breeding stock at all, only buy young male hybrid goats that are just weaned. Young males are better for meat and they're also cheaper because breeders only want to keep the does. Also don't spend 20T on a house- it's too hard to earn back that much from goats. Buy roofing material from a junkshop, try to find second hand wood like from someone demolishing an old house. Goats aren't picky! Have your caretaker cut native bamboo for the walls and floor. All in all it should only cost a few thousand.
All this depends on already having land with vegetation the goats can eat. Don't even think about buying or leasing land. Ideally you already have or know someone who has idle farmland. The good thing about goats is that they can eat plants growing on the side of mountains, on rocky unfertile land, in ravines, the side of road, etc. So you can get some use out of otherwise useless land.
Finally, don't spend much money on feeds. Native hybrids can survive just fine on browse and grass as long as there is enough protein in the vegetation. They won't grow as fast as if you give them commercial feed every day, but who cares if you're not spending anything on upkeep. High breed and milk goats are a different story- they really require supplemental concentrate.
After six months slaughter all your goats and sell the meat.
That's how you raise goats as a small scale business. Cut out every single unnecessary expense and squeeze out a profit.
