Dirk , I was reading about this the other day and a lot of teams out there feel that any offer that is made (as him being a RFA ) , Detroit will match as the thought Monroe is very much in the long term plans of detroit , a possibility that Josh will be first out the door ( news about Detroit talking to Sacramento for Josh Deal , wc is still in rumor stage ). But I like this article I was reading the other day from BBALL insiders that said :
However, the problem for Monroe this summer hasn’t been concerns of work ethic, durability, attitude or respect levels. The issue was, before the available money started drying up, teams being reluctant to tie up valuable cap space while Detroit had three days to match any offer with other free agent options coming off the board.
The prevailing thought still holds that Monroe is a guy Detroit wants in its program long-term. Having the emerging Andre Drummond and the talented (but coming off a brutal year) Josh Smith on the roster just reinforces the team’s decision to allow the market to play out naturally without interruption.
Back to topic - The Lakers may have looked at this angle , and only time will tell if it works out , but if it were me i'd dangle the bait just to see ...

the problem of M. Beasly is 1on1 style iyang game, makaguba'g play kumbaga, pero when he's on fire, aw thats the time. he is very good asset of the team, mao nang gamay kay iyang playing time sa miami, i think, plus his attitude pd,
"So what we get drunk So what we smoke weed We're just having fun"
It's interesting you bring this up because he got outplayed by Rashard Lewis in the Playoffs and Finals , so yes his work ethic and style of play is suspect but the kid is just 25 , i'm hoping he figures it out that if he doesn't shape up he'll end up a bum. His clock is ticking but its not too late , if LA gives him a chance , there are guys that will surround him that don't take playing around easily in Kobe , Coach Scott , Mitch etc .. lets hope all will be well and again I see this as a short term thing unless he proves himself. If we do get him one year contract with clauses and cheap salary.

Looks like we are ready for 2014 season =D Everybody is counting us out but I still believe that we can give any team a good fight for their money. We have no other way to go but up.
