We can assume that wall street controls American media, but then again it was American media that fueled hysteria in 2008 that made recovery a snail-crawl. The same media that castigated Bush for the mess in Iraq. The same media that castigated Obama for his handling of Libya, Egypt, Syria etc. I'm not saying di na sila biased, but people are exaggerating about the western media. What I've noticed on the internet is uso na kaayo ang anti-American, anti-west rhetoric, and I understand why, but it doesn't mean everything anti-west/American is true. You will never see RT do this to Putin because it is a propaganda outlet.

Al Jazeera, I agree, is less biased...with issues not relating to the muslim world. They are very anti-shia from what I can tell after years of following their coverage.

the internet has bred an entire generation of would-be conspiracy theorists that will immediately deny mainstream media as a fabrication of the big-bad west. Have you guys actually seen news presented by CNN, Fox, BBC, NBC in the west? They are pretty pessimistic about the outlook of the U.S. and the west in general. Why do you think Obama's approval rating is considered very low, much lower than when Clinton was impeached? It sure isn't RT doing the damage on Obama's presidency.

Do not simplify things by accepting what isn't mainstream as the truth. You guys make it sounds as if it was as easy as that. Take anything with a grain of salt.

The news presented by mainstream is fairly legitimate, but when you have something like this. You begin to question which is true, which is fabricated and will they report news when it does not favor them and or parties heavily vested into the corporations? And that is not where it ends, when you dig even further at who is investing into the 6 corporations, then that is another topic worthy of it's own thread. =-)

The news presented by mainstream is fairly legitimate, but when you have something like this. You begin to question which is true, which is fabricated and will they report news when it does not favor them and or parties heavily vested into the corporations? And that is not where it ends, when you dig even further at who is investing into the 6 corporations, then that is another topic worthy of it's own thread. =-)

they're all the same, it doesn't matter where the country of origin is. unfortunately for us filipino's, we get most of our news from the same media outlets that the americans get their information from.

Don't waste your time relying on media alone, study foreign policy and the history behind those decisions and look at the countries in question. Media only serves as a tactical manifestation of a governments foreign policy. It is just to sparse, sporadic and insignificant.

Look at long term strategies, things that people rarely talk about since you can't find it in media. Look at foreign policy.

what can i say? i must agree. it is not that people are becoming anti american. as some posters already said, "we love americans, we love their people, but we hate their foreign policy of war, war and endless war." tanang media controlado man jud na to serve one's interests. in essence they are all the same. it maybe that in the case of the MH17 all of them are telling the truth. how much truth is what differs.
