After numerous PRAM & SMC Reset, Repair Disk Permission, SafeBoot, OSX Reinstall and not to mention the 2 trips I did to have technicians look into it (to no avail), I stumbled upon the activity monitor and thought I try quitting the process "diskarbitrationd" (obviously I did). Lo and behold, it worked like magic! Everything is back to normal again!!!
