"DAVAO CITY -- The owner of Crown Regency Hotel died after he was shot at close range by a lone gunman inside his building in Obrero, Davao City around 7 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Richard King, 56, was dining with his employees inside the Vital-C Building when the gunman entered and shot the victim on the head.

The suspect immediately fled the scene on a black motorcycle that was waiting outside the building.

Police are still investigating the incident."
