How old is your PC, TS?

If it's really old, the thermal paste may have dried out, or if it's been a long while since the last time the inside of the CPU has been cleaned = both cases could lead to overheating. That's also not taking into account how long you keep your PC running.

Describe the beep. As buddy&sale posted, different beep patterns indicate different problems.
Also, do any warning messages appear right before the display turns off, or is there just absolutely no display the second you turn your PC on?
