Wherever you get your conspiracies from, those troops, those Marines didn't die for nothing. They stood their ground fighting for their families, this country and for freedom. So whatever, whoever's propaganda your hearing most of these from, there is this thing called the black market - which is quite rampant here in SEAsia and mostly are operated by pirates who are also rampant here in Southeast Asia and the operating in the South China Sea.

Although, I believe the reality of corruption within the government and even in the military concerning arms dealing and money, remember that the 'common' soldiers are fighting for your freedom. And try not to rely on conspiracy theories about the government, most of these are propaganda made by you know who.

Though these stories are unconfirmed, it's still not too far from being true. We all know what kind of people we have in the government and in the Armed Forces as well. It's a sad fact but those "common" soldiers can be used as a front for some greater activities behind by some bigger fishes. Corruption is so rampant that almost everybody in authority will do everything they can in their power for their personal interests.

And try not to rely on conspiracy theories about the government, most of these are propaganda made by you know who.
My friends from Mindanao and even a Military friend told me these kind of stories. Weighing the reliability and current situation we have in the Philippines, this is a very big possibility.

I know. I pointed out that those are plausible. But the magnitude that every Filipino is "doomed" to think this is real most of the time, is not or shouldn't be. Because in any war, there are always a handful of people who attack the government and its people by means of creating vast propaganda and by recycling badly-reputated government issues; mainly to demoralize the citizens and turn us against our own government.

there wouldn't be stories about these conspiracies that you say, if there was trigger to begin with... its better to suspect because it shows your thinking on a different perspective... a war is war but what trigger it might be for their own benefits to their selfish reasons... thats the important part to know on what and why did it start case the rest are just results if you sum it up... respect to each own mind...

What is your point? The whole world knows conspiracies are born may it be from the truth, a lie, rumors, a scheme, or a claim or a mix of everything. There is nothing wrong with reading between the lines - its good to read between the lines! But just be wary of where and who much of these "theories" come from, because sometimes the conspiracy covers the real story and lie becomes truth.

And we're "doomed" too if we don't take this into consideration and think that this is not "true". We should look at it at both sides and be transparent. Good if it's untrue, then what if it's true?

I never said it was not true. And you are right, we should look at both sides. Unfortunately, everybody thinks everytime the military accesses something to stop those scumbags, some group of people start their job telling the story the other way around.

Daghan sad nangapil sa mga terrorista nga mga ilitterate. Dali ra kau linginun ang ulo ba.
ur right... there is more to it than religion. discrimination against the muslims are rampant in mindanao. but still the very nature of their religion dali ra kaayo mu breed ug fanaticism and the scary thing about fanaticism is the fact that they feel licensed by god to do whatever they wanna do to the enemy. mao na na medyo brutal gyud.

@lytslpr: yeah... u mentioned the ILAGA of the 70's. that was actually a government funded paramilitary group recruited to counter the muslim BARRACUDA's. na wala lang ang control sa government nila. in the end the ilaga themselves committed heinous crimes in mindanao not only against the muslims. apil pa mga christians na biktima ani nila. they morphed into an ultra-right bandit/terror group.
