Tanqueray Sterling (when available) 2nd choice is Absolut.

Used in:

sweetened lime juice (Vodka Gimlet)

cranberry juice (Cape Codder)

real grapefruit juice (Vodka Greyhound)

real orange juice (Screwdriver)

Second choice of vodka would be Absolut.


That being said, I do prefer Tanqueray Gin to Vodka (of any brand). It always gives me a "happy" buzz.

One of my favorite mixed drinks includes both gin and vodka (plus a few more spirits... rum, tequila, triple sec). It's of course the sneak-up-on-you powerful Long Island (Iced Tea).
