Any of you guys working on CW? I am missing my iambic keyer.
It is music to my ears especially hearing the pile-ups and letting them chase you by going split when the pile-ups become unmanageable.
Any of you guys tried applying for a new radio operator license here in cebu? I was into radio several years ago and i'm planning to get back into this hobby now and get an operator license and a registered radio as well. Any idea what are the requirements for a class D operator, what are allowed for that particular class (equipments, frequency, etc) and the scope of the exam for class D operators? Do i need any formal radio operator training/class or self study is enough? Thanks.
Don't know if this belongs here, mods pls move to applicable thread...
Anybody here have experience with Baofeng radios? The UV-5R series...
feedback from the field from actual users sir... best bang for the buck daw kuno ang 5R. it is very cumbersome to program without the programming cable kay dili intuitive iya menu system.
naa kay nahibaw-an nga local source sir .. kanang mejo ok ang price? paki pm lang sir if naa kay murag ganahan ko.

Our group is interested in this brand as feedback from ERUF and fire brigade guys seems ok and the price is attractive, albeit the hard to program part which I don't have any ideas that these things needs to be programmed? All I know about radios is just set the tx/rx frequencies and thats it. Will let you know boss @Passport when we get a quote.
mao pud lagi sulti nila.. ang presyo gyud ang major selling point sa 5R. naay other brands coming out of China nga mas cheaper pa gani kaysa 5R.. pero mas proven sa field ang 5R kay daghan na nag gamit diri sa ato. the price seems hovering on the "disposable" level daw kuno kay mas mahal pa kung magpa repair kaysa mupalit ug new na lang.
Yep, although I would not prefer China products if I could help it, these average around the 2.6k-3.5k range, so yeah with a good discount and some accessories thrown in, we just have to go with it...
Heck even our uniforms are also made in China...
