    MY STORY

Just lately, I have suffered excruciating pain from a SLIPPED DISC HERNIATION which somehow resulted to ME being bedridden for a week or so which somehow also debilitated me for over a month! I couldn't walk without somebody to help me up and about to the bathroom or wherever! I couldn't sit up and eat and so I had to eat while lying on my side which was pretty hard! And I had to lessen my liquids so as not to keep on getting up to go to the CR else I wore an adult diaper while being in that state of being bedridden so to speak! After a week, I could already sit up and walk but with difficulty and pain and not for a long time!

Spinal disc herniation (in Latin prolapsus disci intervertebralis, commonly called a slipped disc[1] although this is not medically correct) is a medical condition affecting the spine in which a tear in the outer, fibrous ring (anulus fibrosus) of an intervertebral disc (discus intervertebralis) allows the soft, central portion (nucleus pulposus) to bulge out beyond the damaged outer rings. Disc herniation is usually due to age related degeneration of the anulus fibrosus, although trauma, lifting injuries, or straining have been implicated. Tears are almost always postero-lateral in nature owing to the presence of the posterior longitudinal ligament in the spinal canal.[2] This tear in the disc ring may result in the release of inflammatory chemical mediators, which may directly cause severe pain, even in the absence of nerve root compression.

I went through a battery of tests from

    1. Pelvic x-rays
    2. Lumbar x-rays
    3. MRI's

just to know what was wrong with me and I was even hospitalized for it! All of these cost me a whole lot and not to mention the MEDS that the docs prescribed me!

Within the first few weeks of what I was suffering, a friend of mine referred this guy to me...a healer, she said...a healer like me! But since my family was big on letting me go to the hospital having a checkup and all, I did all of that first then contacted him for a meet! And so on an early morning, I got an appointment with him to come over the house! It is convenient to think that a doctor/healer would be the one to come over the house rather than me with a painful case go to his clinic, which by the way, he doesn't have since that is just how he rolls so to speak! Before said appointment, I asked him what I should prepare for him and his treatment (Maybe MANOK OGIS na ihawun ug unsa pang mga gamit para sa mananambal! Joke!). And all he ever told me was that:

    1. NO FOOD before treatment
    2. I have to be CALM and learn how to BREATHE whenever I feel PAIN when he tries to move me
    3. A yoga mat or any clean flat surface like the floor for us to do the treatment
    4. Hand or Face towels for him (Coz he sweats a lot during every treatment! Kinda like harnessing your inner power to heal someone and the effect is like you have done an hour of cardio and sweat a lot!)

The treatment is both PHYSICAL and MENTAL!

Kinesiology, also known as human kinetics, is the scientific study of human movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, mechanical, and psychological mechanisms. Applications of kinesiology to human health include: biomechanicsand orthopedics; strength and conditioning; sport psychology; methods of rehabilitation, such as physical and occupational therapy; and sport and exercise.[1] Individuals who have earned degrees in kinesiology can work in research, the fitness industry, clinical settings, and in industrial environments.[2]Studies of human and animal motion include measures from motion tracking systems, electrophysiology of muscle and brain activity, various methods for monitoring physiological function, and other behavioral and cognitive research techniques.[3][4]
Kinesiology as described above should not be confused with applied kinesiology, a controversial[5][6][7] medical diagnostic method.
The word comes from the Greek word kinein, to move.

Being OPEN to him is a breeze even though he is not local and considering he is a "Foreign guy" since he has also been accustomed already to our dialect, BISAYA; and having lived in the Philippines for such a long time already has already made him very familiar to our ways, culture and traditions!

Like a doctor to a patient and vice-versa, OPENESS is KEY also to the treatment! So whatever I felt past, present and after, was an important factor to both TREATMENT and HEALING!!

On the day of the treatment, he found out a lot of things wrong with my posture; bone, joint, muscle position etc. which was one of the factors that resulted in my slipped disc! Along with the treatment, since it took a long time, I also did a couple of questions thrown at him, kinda like an interview/building rapport with the patient and/or doctor thingy and also keeping the treatment relaxing and comfortable!

And during the treatment, I learned a whole lot of things about him and his treatment which somehow crosses the boundaries between modern medicine and ancient folk medicine which I am not discriminant to but rather open about it and its beliefs! During this session is when I learned about his history from being raised in the states to coming back and living in the Philippines, specifically CEBU CITY to heal people!

"Too many stories to tell," is what he usually says during our 2 consecutive treatment sessions which we're both successful! In his 17 years of practicing this method of healing, he has made a lot of people get back on their feet, move and walk again!

One of his stories is that of a 90-something-year-old woman who was bedridden for 2 years, who needed 2 people to help her up and about! After an hour of treatment, she was up and about and even went down 3 flights of stairs ON HER OWN without help from anyone! Amazing isn't it!

These and more you would hear from him during his treatments! It is kind of also one way to help the patient relax and let the treatment just flow marvelously! Kinda also my way of treating my patients in the field of dentistry!

After an hour or so of each treatment, believe it or not, I was relieved! No more excruciating or debilitating pain! I could walk around for more than a minute without feeling nauseous, I could sit on the dining table all throughout breakfast/lunch/dinner without feeling lightheaded and I was already able to do chores around the room, although just light ones at first even if he told me not to fear or try to expect some pain to come etc!

FOR EDIT PA...My story isn't finished yet! Hehhehe

wow amazing! I didn't know someone like him still exist. I wish I knew this guy back when I was injured. I also had joint injury (wrist and shoulder) when I was lifting weights. I had to stop lifting for a couple of months in order to heal my injury, but it took more than a year and nothing happened. I can't imagine how much pain I suffered from that injury. I went to a couple of doctors to no avail. So I had to do my own research and just a month ago I did some self treatment and tried alternative meds for my joints and the pain went away just after a week. I can now stretch my shoulders and wrist without any pain. My injury is not 100% healed yet, but the good thing is the pain is no longer there. Anyways, worst-case scenario I would definitely contact him directly if I need help. Thanks for sharing!
