Replaced the stock 'S-cush' pads on my Grado SR80i with the 'L(large)-cush' bowls which is standard issue with all the higher-end Grados except the GS1000 and PS1000. The result: less-forward, thinner bass, wider soundstage, better isolation and much much detailed.

Although in this combo, the legendary Grado SR60/80 sound which i really love is now gone and its now neutral, i still like it a lot.

First time i experienced how changing the pads can drastically alter the sound. No wonder there are a lot of DIY mods on pads out there.
