IDS is an old technoloy, its more on a detection side (pasive)... IPS is the new technology for firewall (Intrusion prevention system) this is more on active side reacting to the treat not just detecting it.. most of the new firewalls now have this.

If you would like to review a firewall let me know i have a .2 cents to give.

gamay ra ako idea sa Juniper bro.. still learning pako ani nga technology.
I just start reading the materials...(self-study)
but my friend have a great knowledge since he is a Juniper Certified.
we share ideas between the two products since we are both in IT.
big companies here is Cebu uses this technology, mao na-inganyo ko.
But still my vote is for Cisco...
