the 500px long side rule is no longer being followed by most in the photography section, which affected loading times of some pages. images from FB are normally beyond 500px, but they're low-res so it's not as heavy. while i could understand why some prefer to post hi-res copies, it also is not fair to those with slower connections (especially when you're mobile or using the wi-fi connection of coffee shops etc.)

i know it's a big task to constantly moderate that section, but something needs to be done as more and more newbie hobbyists are posting there without reading the rules. can we perhaps increase the limit to 640px on the long side? i've tested it before using a tablet and it seems a perfect blend of just being the right size to appreciate the photo without adding to the loading time.
