    pleases them? of course yes..

    chocolates will melt.. flowers wilt..
if you want to make them happy..
give them love and honest affection..

For me personally, di gyud ko ka relate aning chocolates and flowers. Babaye man unta ko, sure it would be flattering to received flowers and chocolates but I find these two things useless gyud. And I always tell my guy to give something that can make my life easier, even if its just a sign pen or a pair of shoes for work. As long as its not something that will only last me for days. Here's my logic to both items....

Flowers - ok fine. it looks cute, it looks beautiful. But instead of spending hundreds of pesos for a bouquet of flowers that will only last for 3 to 5 day (swerte na kung kaabot ug 7 days). Then it goes to the trash! Waste of money and the aesthetic aspect of it is very TIME LIMITED.

Chocolates - I don't really have much of a sweet tooth. Just like flowers its appeal is very limited because you'll end up eating the chocolate anyway. Waste of money again for me.

Personally, although chocolates and flowers have always been a tradition for men to give it to women on Vdays. I think its best to give your special someone SOMETHING that SHE CAN ACTUALLY PUT TO GOOD USE and something will last for a longer period of time.
