you're joking right?
This is not the first time the people in power silenced their detractors and opposition under the guise of preventing libel and defamation. If people are too onion-skinned to be bashed and flammed, then maybe they need to look for a job that doesn't involve too much public exposure. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. In general, you guys keep praising democracy and the freedoms that comes along with it, but we make laws that are contrary to its essence. I do not like people who slander other people, mind you, but this law is BALONEY!
The Supreme Court has spoken. What's our next step or options? Because if we don't respect or abide by it, we can be penalized by fine or imprisoned. I hope Congress amends it.
We need more supporters guys... https://www.change.org/petitions/jun...prevention-law
Madamay man ta sa ilang kapalpakan sa luzon oi...
The law was made to lessen cyber bullying . murag sure si pinoy nagpaluyo ani balaoda but once they're out of office and want netizens to criticize the next administration as much as we did pinoy they regret ever backing this law.
This law is quite effective in taming down a nation and culture where rumor mongering is the favorite pastime.
All I can say is.. uhmmm uhmmmm, uhhmmmm,, UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMM..
thats all thank you
I have no problem with the law except the SC should have distinguished between libel against public officials and libel against private individuals. In case of the former, it should be declared unconstitutional. The right of the public to express indignation against their officials must be encouraged not suppressed.
