The Korean media is at it again, revealing some of Samsung’s plans for the coming year.

According to ZDNet Korea, Samsung will be announcing its first smartphone with a QHD (2,560×1,440) display at Mobile World Congress (MWC) between February 24 – 27 – although not mentioned by name, this phone is all but certain to be the Galaxy S5, as it would be silly for Samsung to unveil its next major upgrade in display tech on anything but a flagship device, and also because mass production of these QHD displays is already underway.

An MWC announcement falls right in line with the rumored April launch of the Galaxy S5, possibly in both premium and “super-premium” variants, though since Samsung likes having its own dedicated events for flagship announcements, an MWC unveil might not come to be. The same report mentions that Samsung will also unveil a device in 2014 that comes with its rumored (and patented) eye (iris) scanning technology, though whether it makes the cut as a Galaxy S5 feature is something that remains to be seen.

It will happened at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 next year, so rest assured that you’ll be hearing all about the Galaxy S5 and other announcements made by Samsung at the yearly mobile event.

hey around this time back in 2012, the S4 rumours have span the web all throughout and when 2013, entered, just around the first quarter, Samsung introduced into the Market their infamous flagship - The Galaxy S4, with a brouhaha ala broadway musical fiasco in NYC.

After that, on the last quarter, Sammy also introduced the Note 3... So next year, We would truly expect again Sammy would introduce another lineup on their galaxy series... this time the S5... and down the end of the quarter next year.. the NOTE 4 again..

Up for this official S5 thread. I hope Samsung would not hitch on the "Curve" bandwagon. A curve S5 would be the last thing in my end.

Samsung has admitted that the public didn't see much difference between the Galaxy S III and S4 smartphones and said the S5 would likely pack a substantially different design. Exec Lee Young Hee told Bloomberg that the new flagship will go "back to basics," adding that "mostly, it's about the display and the feel of the cover." It'll also arrive with a brand-new version of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which itself will have "more advanced functions" and an improvement to what she called "the bulky design." Other revelations include a possible eye-scanner in the handset for greater security, though that's still being studied.

I think Samsung would as they say "go back to the basic" bai. Maybe an edge to edge screen with more bells and whistles. As Samsung says, "more advanced functions".
