HELP: MY NEW CAMERA FLASH WONT FIRE!

Help!

i just bought a Suntax Thyristor 9800T flash for my cam. When i bought it last saturday (July 21), and had it tested in FujiFilm shop in SM, it was still working. When we brought it home and tested it, it still works. I only used it on that day until my rechargeable batteries ran out of power. When i opened the box and tried it again on wednesday night, it wont fire anymore.

tried it with all my batteries and even bought a new set of energizer alkaline batteries but still failed.

When i switch it on, i can hear a soft, high-pictched sound (i think that's normal for flash), but the ready light wont turn on and no flash light is emitted (even when i install it on my camera and even when i press the TEST button). hahaaaay...

Don't mount it on the camera, can it charge? press the test button while not mounting it on a camera .... will it still be able to fire? You may have shorted the contacts on the flash, it happened to me once with a suntax flash too ...

im really hoping they would receive it back bro, coz as ive seen, they only have 2 models with 1 unit available on every model. Besides, theyre just distributing these flashes or on consignment basis coz the shop is FUJIFILM and this flash is SUNTAX.

but im crossing my fingers though. after all, i didnt get my money's worth.

yup, done that bro. still NO flash... that's what i did actually. and i also tested it while it's ON my camera. still, no flash.

what did you to your flash when that happened? i hope my case is not that serious. my cousin's wedding is fast approaching and im very excited coz it would be my FIRST wedding photoshoot!!! hahaaaay....

Not sure about your flash/camera combination. Before I was using a point and shoot cam with a suntax flash, the trigger voltage was too high, it ended up blowing the flash bulb. I had not bothered sending it for repairs, dunno where I had it now. ..

thanks mga bro... i went to FUJIFILM in SM yesterday and they told me, they cannot give warranty because theyre just selling it. hahaaaay...

im thinking of sending this to my "electronician" friend nalang. and have this opened noh? what do you think mga bro?
