    Default Wanted fans

share lang nku akong nabasahan.... what do you think ani? hahaha..

THE local police began giving out to the public some 30,000 foldable fans bearing pictures of the top 10 most wanted criminals in Region 7.
“It serves a double purpose. They can use it to cool off and also participate in monitoring lawless elements,” said Senior Supt. Edward Carranza, chief of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7’s directorial staff.
He said they spent more than P100,000 to produce these fans. The “wanted fan” is part of the anti-crime drive of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“Through these fans, everyone can help report to us the location of criminals in case
    they see them,” Carranza said.

Printed on the fan are the names and pictures of the wanted criminals and a police hotline number that the public can call.
This project was created by the Cebu’s intelligence community headed by Regional Intelligence Division (RID) as part of their security preparation for the Sinulog festival.
Carranza, together with other key officials of PRO 7, went to the Cebu South Bus Terminal yesterday to give the fans to the riding public.
A simultaneous distribution was also held in Consolacion, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City and Talisay City.
Before this project, posters and stickers of wanted criminals were plastered by police in public utility vehicles.
“It has resulted in the arrest of some criminals,” Carranza said.
In a separate interview, Supt. Rodolfo Albotra of Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) said this project is one way of encouraging the community to get involved in keeping peace and order.
“We will be able to easily track these criminals, whose crimes include robbery, murder and rape,” he said. Albotra is the head of Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB).
He said the names and pictures of the criminals printed on the fans vary upon
    location.

“Kung sa Cebu Province, taga didto ra pud nga mga criminals. Sa PRO 7 kay on a regional level naman,” Albotra added.
One of those who received the fans was 54-year-old Edna Aguilar of Mandaue City.
She said the project was a good one and the public will now know who the wanted criminals are.
Aguilar told Sun.Star Cebu that said these criminals might lurk during the Sinulog festival and endanger people’s security.
“Kung makakita mi ani nila, i-report dayon nato. May nalang makatabang sad ta ani sa police,” she added.
The Mandaue City Police Office led by MCPO Chief Petronelli Baldebrin handed the foldable fans to shoppers at a mall near City Hall yesterday morning.
Supt. Josefino Ligan, chief of the City Intelligence Branch, said they will print 250 fans and distribute these in malls and bus terminals.
In a press conference yesterday, Ligan said the wanted persons have committed heinous crimes and have pending cases for murder or robbery.
The MCPO has recommended to the Department of Interior and Local Government the giving of reward to those who can give information leading to their arrest, he said.
Those who have information about the criminals can call the Mandaue City police at
    2686869.

Meanwhile, the police will deploy more than 2,000 police members to secure peace and order during the Sinulog revelry next week.
More than 3,000 military members will beef up the police force and control the crowd.
They are reservists, ROTC cadets, 2nd Engineering Brigade, 2nd Air Division of Philippine Air Force and Naval Forces Central.

Lt. Jim Alagao, spokesperson of Central Comand (Centcom) of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), told Sun.Star Cebu they will also deploy K9 units, a team from Explosive Ordinance Division (EOD) and quick reaction teams.
Though the military will not raise their alert level, Alagao said they will not remain complacent.

This is good and interesting idea. Downside -- kung makakita ang usa ka kriminal nga naay namaypay, molikay gyud sya kay manawngan nya sya
