But I am still checking out new games being introduced and trying them out, and getting disappointed because of my 5 year old core2duo setup. Basically, this new setup will be mainly for both online/offline gaming and movie viewing hihi.

My desktop budget is maximum 25k for the CPU. anddd, I think by end of this month, ma accomplish na jd naku ang pag save ug 25k hehe..

I have seen the 12k Gaming CPU thread and was interested with the 23k rig:

    -----------------------------------
Php23K Full-fledged (Kusog Mamakak Sa Mama) Gaming Rig
    Intel i3-4130, 3.3ghz, 3mb, lga1150
    Gigabyte H81M-DS2 LGA1150
    2 x 4gb ddr1333 PQI
    500gb Hitachi
    MSI 650ti Boost

Thing is, my online gamer friend suggested another setup with me, and I was wondering which was better, hehe. Here was his proposed setup:

    SETUP 1:
    Intel Core i5 3470
    Gigabyte B75 motherboard
    4gb ddr3 1333
    500gb HDD
    Palit 650 ti OC 1gb/128bit ddr5

    SETUP 2:
    Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz
    ASRock Z68 Pro3
    G. Skill Ripjaws X 2GBx2 DDR3 1600 CL9
    Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB
    500-GB HDD

    ---------------------------------

Mao pud to xa. I am also considering a gaming laptop, since di na man jd ko ing-ana ka adik like before.. (like, ganahan ko sa MSI ge60) Pero, from experience, mas ganahan man gd ko sa flexibility (i.e. upgrade-ability) sa desktop PC compared sa laptop hehe..

Please give me your thoughts, insights, reactions, even violent ones hehe.. I would really appreciate it. I don't have techie friends, so I'm hoping my techie isTorya friends (assuming :P) will help me out hehe..

Thanks very much for reading and dropping by!
Unsa imung settings sa game like resolution etc.?

i truly recommend the set up given by sir @keropi. you can change it though to any i5 4th gen and any b85 mobo para sa USB 3.0 Sata 3.0 ug PCIE 3.0
Padong na mawala ang i3? Naming rana ang i3 bro...

I doubt about anang haswell. Intel pay imo. Dali kau mo ilis ug socket. Pero agree on new build go for new tech of today.

Basin ig abot sa broadwell good bye new socket kay basin ma standard na ang ddr4.

bye2x LGA 1150 when Skylake will arrive as scheduled late next year or early 2016... but before Skylake, Broadwell will be introduced maybe, this year or early 2015. it is not compatible with the current LGA 1150 chipsets (8 series)... a new mobo chip set will be used and that is the 9 series (due to the current power requirement as disclosed) but still, it will use the current LGA 1150 socket... na, unsa napud ang requirement sa PSU ani nila during idle state...

mao ni akoang gi sulti sauna, in this passion of ours, future proofing will only be up to 2 or 3 yrs... but, depende ni sa application na gigamit... wla'y probs kun office apps or work related apps. karon gani, bisan ang mga LGA 775 or AM2/3 based platform, of ra man ug productivity apps. and even on moderate games. ang sa games per se, ok ra na ang CPU platform na ma abot ug 3 yrs but, for sure, ma bitin ta once mag ilis ta'g new GPU or mag ilis ug slot ang new GPU offerings para maka play ta's current GFX intensive games... mga FPS games ra man pud ni sila hinoon...

basta mag gaming, buy what your allocated budget can buy today and prepare for the upcoming worst ailment in the future... hehehe... mao man gyud na ang fact labi na ma hooked sa heavy GFX games... don't worry for the future since it will bring its own set of problems latter on...

if you'll go into intel's route, go LGA 1150... pwede ra gyud gihapon ang LGA 1155 pero, naa naman gyud nang LGA 1150, kana na ang palita for a new build... if you'll go AMD's way, go AM3+ for performance computing... wala apa man lain... or, if you want discrete-less GPU configuration for gaming, go for the FM2+ platform...

    cheers...

mao lagi..pero performance ipang hatag sad okay na unta 20% or 25% 5-10% pajud...murag maka ingong ka ba walay kwenta mag upgrade kung ing-ana...sa haswell bitaw karon ang dakong improvement wala man sa cpu naa man sa igpu nila..saonz aning intel...

anyhow, intel is reigning for now...

OT: AMD MANTLE DELAYED! Sus perting huwata baya nako ana...eh
