Hello audiophiles,. i just want to post a query, i know this might sound too Noobish coz really that's what i am.. Just recently bought FiiO E11 and im wondering whether to use the L9 connector or the 3.5 - 3.5mm connector that came along with the device.. although through much googling ive been informed of the fact that the L9 bypasses the internal amp of the Ipod or any iOS device and the 3.5-3.5mm does not, but i need expert information regarding this as to the pros and cons, thanks..

in my opinion bai and this is based on my personal sound preference since i used the 3.5mm connector with my e11 before i stumbled on reviews and articles regarding the utilization of the L9 over the 3.5mm connector that goes with the E11 and for me it does provide a sound better than i expected compared to the 3.5mm connector of the e11 for me its not a bad investment

Yes it will bypass the internal amp so it can send out a clear signal straight from the DAC to your external amp of choice.

PROs - definitely improves sound quality (how much, depends on your amp)
CONs - ipod/iphone specific only, you will still need the stock L2/L8 if you have other non-apple sources.

i dont know what you mean by true DAC but what i know is all Apple's DAC's either the Wolfsons (old ipod models) or the Cirrus Logics (newer ones) are only limited to 24/96 instead of the full 24/192. thats also why external portable DACs are all the rage these days
