Ug daghan na sad ug normal games ron dili kaabot ug (IDEAL) constant 60fps on max settings using a single gpu.
And some people are passionate about their games having to look their best, some are sensitive to even the slightest hint of microstutter during a game. Makalagot baya na bisan panagsa ra.
You should know that there are 2 aspects sa gaming: the FPS and the Detail. If you are just a casual gamer, you tend to just go with the FPS, and satisfaction is according sa imong preference (pude ra gani 24fps). If you are the other type, detail is not just a bonus, it's a requirement. If your monitor can go 60+FPS, 120FPS, then by all means, go for it. FPS is directly proportional to details, meaning na kung gamay ka ug eye-candy, FPS will shoot up. All video cards lessen this proportions at some sweet spot, mura ug best settings niya. If you want to really enjoy the new engines, scenery, the eye candy, don't be contented with FPS. Daghan games karon nga tesselated to show HD details, and you will be awed by how much different was it kaysa sa old MW games or unmodded Skyrim.
IF you can go well at 60FPS or above at 1080p with all options enabled, it is not an overkill - It's how game designers wanted their games to be played!
^ no money to buy new monitor.. currently playing on 1920 X 1200 on a 24 inch monitor.. salamats Ginoo d kaau q stricto sa detail.. I would want to try to play on highest detail though.. but knowing me, I would probably revert back to not-so-detailed, sakitan q sa mata.. perhaps next upgrade path nako is a new monitor..
thanks sa comment, will try to acquire a good monitor para gaming.. kaso currently busy ko sa Red Alert 2 and Battle Realms.. waiting on the newest Command and Conquer (Generals 2).. I really miss the old games where fast thinking was more important than fast hands.. FPS had 100 health and limited save files.. and RTS costed days to finish... ahahaha..
Currently using both these monitors

ASUS VK241H
which do you think would be better for gaming?
Ahh finally an RTS fan hehe. Red Alert, Battle Realms and CnC Generals will always have a place in my gamer heart. Though admittedly I seldom play games these days, whenever I got a chance to revisit games, those 3 will always be on the list. My plan of getting a 5:4 lcd monitor is already on the top of my to-do list. It bugs me playing those games on a unsupported widescreen res. Though I can do it on the TV, the black bars annoys me . Anyways, I agree with your last thought there. RTS games are going by the drain these days. Nobody seems to bother making them anymore. Someone should do a kickstarter on a Battle Realms remake. Perhaps that would make me go back to gaming in a heartbeat.
