i went to the carburetor specialist early this morning to get it tuned,.... but cylinder # 3 wasn't working,..... had the distributor checked and the firing order and they both looked good,....

Tony the carburetor specialist said that i have to get it fixed b4 he tunes it,.....

i think that i need a valve job,..... what do you guys think?
any suggestion b4 i get the valve job done?

well its running the same ever since i got,.....

the engine doesn't seem like its stalling,.... and its running pretty strong with 1 cylinder down (my friend wanted to test it out with his AE86 GT-S with I/H/E) and i still won,....

since im running rich,... im thinking the valves by cylinder # 3 is dirty / alot of build up
so thats why im thinkin' about getting a valve job,... and while the engine is open,..... i might as well install a TRD gasket for higher compression

Allow me to share some help but this should be done with care and by someone who can follow simple procedures or instructions. It is recommended that you do this before you change your engine oil.

For a 4 cylinder (4 spark plugs - this is very common sa mga auto nato dire) engine with carburetor, the following procedure can help by cleaning your fuel lines, intake valves and cylinders (remove glaze) in 40 minutes time. I've done this several times on nissan engines and I get very good results.

    Materials needed:
500ml kerosene - you can buy this from the gas station like petron, shell and caltex. (cost is less than P20.00)
250ml pure acetone - you can buy this sa department store under nail polish section, make sure it's pure. (cost is less than P60.00)
Clean and dry "glass bottle" (750ml wine bottle or 1 liter softdrink bottle, "never" use plastic bottles)

Note: Make sure that you have fuel in your car tank that can last an hour of idle engine run.

How to make the cleaner mixture?

Safety first: wear latex gloves aron walay direct contact sa imong skin in case mayab-an ka gamay inig sagol nimo. Do this in an open and well ventilated area like sa gawas sa balay. Kung mahimo pag wear ug safety goggles.

Put the kerosene inside the glass bottle.
Add the pure acetone (usually comes in 120ml glass bottles).
Mix them well by shaking the bottle. It would help when you have a cork to cover the bottle.
At this point, you'll notice that oil will form at the bottom of the mixture.

Caution: Some plastic can melt with the mixture so avoid plastics.

    Procedure:

    1. Make sure that the engine is off or wala mag andar. Open the engine hood.
    2. Remove the carburetor cover (including the air filter kung nagtabon sa carburetor).
    3. Disconnect the two sparkplug wires from the spark plug, kanang duha nga naa sa tunga.

    4. Start your engine and bring it to 2500rpm, kung walay tachometer bring it to a smoother run. Butangi ug heavy object ang gas pedal kung wala kay kauban mag hold to maintain the 2500rpm.
    5. Check the time kung unsang orasa na and start pouring slowly the mixture sa carburetor kanang di ra pud malumos ang engine until mahurot nimo ang half sa mixture. Wait for 10 minutes starting from the time you pour the mixture.
    6. Stop the engine when 10minutes is over and replace back the spark plug wires.

    7. Remove two spark plug wires ang first ug ang last, kanag sigkakilid ba.
    8. Repeat Step 4 to 6.
    9. Replace back the air filter/carburetor cover and close your engine hood.
    10. Idle your engine for 20minutes to burn all the unburned cleaner mixture.

Your engine should be running with lesser noise this time.
You can repeat this cleaning process the next two weekends if you have time to remove the remaining dirt from your engine specially if your engine is more than 5 years old na. After every cleaning session, it is expected you'll get better engine run, more power and less noise.

Caution: Your idle setting will be affected when it was previously set with a dirty engine. Better check/adjust your fuel to air mixture ratio after you're satisfied with the engine performance after cleaning and it is good to change your engine oil kay hugaw na gyud na after engine cleaning. Think of it, you just removed several years of accumulated carbon deposits and glaze from your engine intake valve and cylinders.

Air filter and fuel filter should also be replaced kung hugaw na or due for replacement na.

If you want to move further pag recondition sa engine nimo, palit ug RVS aron ma coated ang cylinders nimo ug metal ceramic. You can contact Ronnie 0921381677 for RVS products, naa ni sa Mandaue. I am not selling this product, nag gamit lang ko ani karon sa engine nako and it works well.
