Why need soooo much RAM? And yeah, DDR3 will do just fine IMO even for the next 2 years.

what is your Current Setup/ SPECS?
Currently just running a relatively old laptop. Am considering a self-built PC as my main gaming rig/main comp. and needed some opinions.

As a system builder, I'd prefer ddr3 because it already has a mature ecosystem (cpu, boards etc) meaning less chances of incompatibilities with a new architecture.

For a SFF gaming setup, concentrate more on your Case, Board, PSU options on whether to go ITX or microATX. Also pay attention to the videocard length and power requirements.
Thanks for the tips. Just wanted to clarify something. Am intending to create a relatively good small form factor PC, and just needed to know personally if it would be a wise thing to wait for DDR4. Guess it should be okay to go with a lot of DDR3 instead. Though, it'll probably be a few months til' I amass the components, which is why I was asking if it was wise to wait even further by a few more months.

I don't think it will make that much of a difference in terms of your computing/gaming experience whether you buy ddr3 now or wait for ddr4 to mature.

The big factor here is that you're building a SFF pc. Usually, such a build requires the use of efficient components because of the limited ventilation of SFF Cases. As such, components like the CPU and Video card would have to be carefully chosen taking into account the thermal and power limitations of the case and psu.

It's all a question of what you would consider as a "relatively good small form factor pc".

For me, such a description would be something like a Core i5 CPU, ITX motherboard, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, MSI GTX 760 (short length) card on a Silverstone ITX case with an SFX psu..

Kuyog kog leap sir, ahaha lisura sad aning bisyoha ui. bag.o pa gani sugod lami na undangun.

^ Dmd ning cge ug update ui. buy nsad ug new mobo ani sir?

^ yup, buy napud ug new mobo ang new CPU... then inig gawas sa next micro-architecture sa GPUs, for sure, kun hinay ang current nato ron, buy napud ta... hehehe... paets kaayo ni na passion kun mag sige ta'g gukod sa technology... or sige basa2x sa mga reviews... hahay... pero, in reality, dili need ug upgrade bro if ang current HW nato, pwede pa kaayo ang performance nya... karon gani, even the Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quads are still good to go... pero, dili lang ta maka duwag ug lami na fps in playing Crysis 3 or BF 4... kay ma bottle neck ang CPU sa GPUs labi na, trip nato mag multiple GPUs... except if ang CPU nato kay quad core on the LGA 775 socket... ok pa sila para sa GFX intensive games. maka kaya pa sila'g powerful pair of GPUs... rule of thumb... GPUs are much more powerful than the CPUs in computing power...

sa kani na passion, depende ra gyud kun unsa nga games atoang duwa-on. if hilig ta'g FPS games, then be ready to have a bottom less pocket kay need ta'g sige'g upgrade... undang na ta aning FPS games... hehehe...
