Regarding to the lyrics " Ang mamatay ng dahil sayo" maybe Mr. Ayala make as serious error. Belittle the meaning of it and substitute with and less sense of loving,. The Greatest Love you can give for a friend/country is to DIE for them.(agape).

But i wonder if kaya nato ni na phrase,For a Friend?.....hmmm Maybe...how much more for a country with these government? ay ambot! lolx

I always get goosebumps when I hear that last line of the anthem, in my opinion, one of the fiercest national anthem ever. And the build-up to that point, it makes any Filipino proud, despite the pulse of our country. It just fires me up to charge down the school corridors with a flag in one hand and a rifle on the other, ready to bash commie skulls with the stock. IMHO It gives justice to those who died for the country, the sung and the unsung.

But Ayala's version is commendable in its own right, even if di unta mao nang mag tamper sa kanta. I totally understand where he's coming from.

i think it's a disrespect to our forefathers who shed blood, sweat & tears for our freedom..... kung mo ingon sya ang mga bata karon di kasabot sa lyrics sa lupang hinirang, i don't think tampering with it is the answer.... dpat sa elementary i-explain or i-tudlo sa students unsay meaning sa anthem word for word.... that way, younger generations would appreciate our ancestors' sacrifices & not joey ayala's creativeness.....

but i would agree on one thing he said: GROUP HUG!!!

Dako kaayo nga issue basta naay mo usab sa tono sa atong national anthem pero naa nabay na priso or naka multa? I think wala pa man siguro.. Mao daghan kaayo mo gara ug himo ug ilang version! Puro ra man sulti/verbal warning, pa media-media pa nga kinahanglan dili usbon kay ma priso or multa. Dahan!

Pero kanang giingon nga "original version" actually is not original naa nay mga revision ani, even the lyrics was I think started as spanish..

There was one time an exhibit in Ayala, naminaw ko sa old version, (if my memory serves me right) the time signature was the same pero ang tempo mura man tog paspas...ang lyrics mura man tog spanish or different tagalog (di na kaayo ko kadumdum)..

Anyway, what I think of Ayala's version, although I think it would never be sang as a nation, but it is something refreshing, a different perspective that makes you think (at least in my case) which is good...
