CNN’s Ana Coren Reports on Bantayan Island’s Yolanda’s Aftermath
International reporter Ana Core of CNN reached Bantayan Island as she reports for the devastation brought about by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) that hits the northern portion of Cebu and even made a fourth landfall in the island of Bantayan, considered as the “egg basket of the Visayas.”
Ana Coren was with Governor Jun Davide as the Governor accompanied some survivors who were airlifted from the Sta. Fe Municipal Airport on their way to the City of Cebu for immediate medication. he Australian international journalist Ana Coren described the devastation in the three municipalities of Bantayan Island, the town of Bantayan, Madridejos and Sta. Fe.
According to the 38-year-old Ana Coren of CNN, the island of Bantayan was isolated to the mainland of Cebu, some of the islets in Bantayan were wiped out by super typhoon Yolanda. Coren reported live from Mactan, Cebu while CNN anchor Anderson Cooper who is leading the CNN’s Philippine Team is currently in Tacloban City.
Ana Coren was quoted on her report about Bantayan Island, ““They need food and water. Despite assurances from the government, aid has yet to arrive. The problem is logistics.” Coren stated.
