fyi for everybody. my late history teacher before told us that even before we had our own government, the americans planned to make us one of their states. but the filipinos led by aguinaldo were afraid that the americans would be like the spaniards that would abuse their power and treat us like dogs. so they revolted against the americans, and whala, the Philippine-American War. the american government understood our stand and decided to guide us how to run a government and the commonwealth government emerge. the americans were on the background while the filipinos run the show. they were headed by manuel quezon (i think), the first commonwealth president. after a few years, they handed over the whole government to us. i think it was the tiddings-mcdofe law that legalized our own government.

so even before, we could have been americans today if our leaders have accepted america's offer to become one of their states. so, there would now be 51 states in the US of A.

funny how these NPA's ask for support from people they wanted so much to topple down. last election, these guys asked for "revolutionary tax" from political parties just so they could do their campaign safely "some sort of protection". It seems like they're ok with the government as long as they got money. I dunno if this holds true to most of the group.. but this happened in our province.
I THINK most of the people who join the NPA are those people who are desperate.. knows nothing/little on how to earn, jobless, misinformed or just pure out of luck. Probably thinking that they have something to eat and have something to do rather than doing nothing or beg. The way I see it, they're fighting for themselves-- not for the people. I might get flamed for this.. but this is just my opinion peace!
