International Immobiliare was a European real estate company. Its properties were worth over $6 billion, making it the largest landowner in the world. The Vatican owned a 25 percent interest.

Question: Asa na sila gkan og kwarta? Income generating business such as?

Thank you, Pope Francis! From what I've read about him so far, he's been saying and doing the right things this early in his Pope-hood. A very down-to-earth, cool guy. If he can now take the brave step to lift the Catholic Church's denunciation of condoms, in spite of the opposition of the rest of the hierarchy, that would win him the admiration of the entire world for doing the right thing. I think, deep in his heart, he wants to change a lot of things that are wrong with the Vatican, but he's treading this minefield very carefully. He probably doesn't need to be told that it's probably dangerous to make enemies with the powers-that-be in that secretive institution.

Because the Vatican isn't really as rich as people think. In fact, their budget is often in the red. In proportion to their economy, a $ 150k donation is huge. While the amount does pale in comparison to the devastation and suffering caused by the typhoon, I see this more as a moral push for others to give, too. In that way, I think this will be effective.

    Thank you, Pope Francis!
