what no original members? Mark Escueta is still here. And didn't you know that this line up is the longest edition to ever exist? Even the bamboo and nathan days didn't last this long. 1993 to 1997 lang si bamboo. thats 4 years. the three left with nathan, 1998 to 2000. While this line up existed from 2001 to present. That gives them even more right to be called Rivermaya even more than the original line up. Just because of this blanco guy who sabotaged the band, it doesn't mean that they have to break it up. besides, this was never his band in the first place.

The thing is, you just can't quit everything just because of one man's selfish ambitions. If Rico B leaves the band, let him. It doesn't mean it has to end with him. I'm a big Blanco fan. But after this, i have my reservations. Especially with the way how he ended things. Mas mabuti pa si Bamboo, he endorsed Rico B. to take over before leaving the band. But si Rico wala eh. Bigla lang naglaho sa ere. You can't quit everything just because of that. It's true, nakakatakot din yung ipagpatuloy yung pangalan and not achieve the same success like before. Baka they would go the way with how eraserheads became cambio. and i would certainly hate to see that happen. But let's at least give these guys a chance. Check out their last full length original album, Between the Stars and waves. You'll notice that Rico B. no longer have the songwriting monopoly. And the rest of these guys can do it.
