It's a tragedy that a child had to die so needlessly and much sympathy for Andy Lopez's parents, but put yourself in the shoes of a law enforcement officer. They simply cannot afford to be so lax. Being nonchalant in that kind of work will get you killed. In most police training programs they often show the video of Deputy Kyle Dinkheller's EoW, who was killed during a routine stop--because he hesitated.
Now, apparently the orange tip on the muzzle was removed.
