    Nice.

Who would've thought that earthquakes are nothing more than the energy released from an accumulated strain in between two plates that are trying to get un-stuck?

Science has made huge advances in our understanding of earthquakes and its underlying physical laws. It's amazing how we stumbled upon a method of rigorously testing hypothesis and came up with so much understanding about the world around us, from the large cosmic scale to the quantum scale. It's all about rolling up your sleeves, finding things out and testing ideas...instead of just lying back and thinking about the intentions of a supernatural agent.

I see this sort of damage to churches now in my FB newsfeed, re reinforced ones.

Faith will always find a way to square the absurd. They'd say it's a miracle that, although the churches collapsed, some statues were unscathed. Well, some traffic lights in Cebu were unscathed. Should we worship the traffic light and the holy trinity of red-yellow-green?
