I hope so too. After all, the Office of the Ombudsman should look into corrupt practices of public officials and the file the corresponding charges should they be involved in such corrupt practices. But if the president can prevent greater corruption by reshuffling her cabinet officials, then why should we be wary about it?

Prevention is better than cure, I suppose.

For whatever reason, the President has the right to revamp her Cabinet. After all she is the Chief Executive and cabinet members serve the excutive positions at the pleasure of the President. If PGMA thinks another person is more competent for the post then it's alright to change the present holder of the position.

Revamp is necessary from time to time in order to have further growth in a president's policy making functions. The revamp is not because TU candidates lost in the elections. As of now there has not been any further news about GMA's cabinet revamp. Only those who were not so effective were already given a go signal to leave the agency or the office.

yes she has the right to revamp, but we also can't help wonder the timing ...

after poor performance of TU candidates from our last elections ...

and to think, they are saying that our economy is doing great 'coz our peso is much stronger ...

ciguro, ang credit sa stronger peso, naa ra ni PGMA wa sa iyang cabinet ...

this is what ANY president should do.

this is done for 2 purposes, to prevent corruption and to do a loyalty check among the cabinet.

hope its really to prevent corruption, and not share corruption to allies of the newly elected

if you look at history, i'm more incline to think of the sharing part, hope i'm wrong ...

prevent corruption? or prevent from being dislodge from our number 1 spot?

"for as long as our business is doing good... who cares if we are number 1, who cares if there are too many unsolve political killings, who cares if she cheated."

I guess so many people are saying this.

The right timing is always questioned, anyway. If the president sees it best to reshuffle the cabinet, then who could stop her? It is within her discretion to appoint or remove cabinet officials. Of course, the reshuffling of cabinet officials is not necessarily commensurate to the improving economy. I believe the president is doing this for the better.

Maybe we can hope for more economic upswing since the president is doing her best to improve the economy, not only for the international community but for the people as well.

I agree. Ilang beses na rin nag-revamp ang presidente and this is for the purpose of preventing corruption as well as a loyalty check. The elections being over, it's to be expected na magkakaroon ng mas major na revamp sa gabinete ng pangulo. No need to put political color on everything.
